Witch Doctor Endugu just dropped Griswold's Edge and Hailstone Wrap armor! I'm back!

I got Griswold's Edge from Duriel, but Hailstrone Wrap is quite a find!. Full Plate Mail correct?

Yeah, full plate! 111 defense and some decent stats. I have all resistances around the 60-ish level now, halfway to level 32. The Council was a walk in the park, did they nerf some bosses in 1.13? Even on "players 8" I kicked their ass hard along with the frost mage. He died once though. Mephisto was also fairly simple, I usually keep my distance since his poison paired with melee can make healing a disaster but when my mage died I simply rushed him and killed him up close. Took a little while but I barely spent a beltfull of potions and my HP was never below 50%.

I do dread the seal bosses in diablo's shrine on "players 8" though... I imagine this is the worst area in all of the original.

I've found a slew of other rare items but none of note. I did find a decent ring though, a unique one that sports 20% mana steal (!) among other things. First truly worthwhile piece of jewelry I've found so far!

I love seal bosses in Diablo's chamber! They are especially fun with Trap Assassins since you can setup a welcome party for them

http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Diablo_2_Patch_Notes_1.13  As far as I can tell, they didn't mess with the overall damage of the bosses nor the hired mercs. Zealadins are just that awesome with the proper build

Damn, 20% mana steal!!. You'll never run out mana with that XD.

Not quite as fun in melee... The problem arises when I'm swarmed by mobs with a lot of health, my Zeal attack doesn't cut effectively into the HP of each single mob since it is divided among all mobs around you so the entire gang gets a lot more time to bash your skull in. Boss groups with cold enchantment and with the extra fast enchantment are no fun either since every attack click starts a sequence of attacks that I can't abort, when you're frozen this can take up to two seconds or so, two seconds better spent running away!

I've died twice so far, once was simply because I wasn't paying attention and forgot to heal and the other was when I was swarmed by a boss gang of beetles, their lightning sort of stung really, really bad...

Edit; lestat, yeah 20% rocks, I have no use for mana potions any longer and can add more healing to my belt (which I do need...). Even enemies and bosses with mana burn die quickly since each hit yields so much mana and Zeal allows such an insane hit rate. Good times!

The worst combination ever is multi-shot lightning enchantment uniques. So dangerous to get close to!

I also wanted to know what merc from Act 2 should I get. It has been awhile but I believe might is pretty good for a summoner necro right? What is the best aura merc for a summoner?

One more thing... Should I invest in a Golem or go skeletons / demons and then pump points into decrepify? I heard you talking about it and it looks like an awesome curse. From what I remember the Golem isn't too good plus it takes away points from making your skeletons bad ass.  I think I'd rather go for skeletons/demons and decrepify curse.

I'm still with my Act 1 Cold Arrow mercenary. Act II Normal mercenaries don't have good auras (Prayer, Defiance or Blessed Aim), so I'd rather have someone that can slow enemies down (couple that with Defiance and the enemies slow down to almost nothing). Nightmare Act II mercenaries are the ones you should be looking into for Summonecros.

Personally I invest a point in Clay Golem and Golem Mastery but only to get Summon Resist. I rarely, if ever, use golems. I'm pumping everything into my skeletons. Decrepify is the curse to go, it slows enemies, cuts their attack in half, makes them take double damage (like Amplify Damage) and it's all kinds of awesome. It's also extremely mana costly (11 per cast at level 1) and only lasts about 4 seconds (it gets better with level), so you'd better have a good mana pool by the time you start using it more often.

As for your Win 7 problems, have you tried running the game in compatibility mode and under Win 95/98 mode? I'm running in those modes and I've had no problems whatsoever with DII.

Tried and didn't work.  I found a forum about the same problem but the last post didn't even help me... http://www.diablo2.com/forum/cinematic-trouble-when-t19043p2.html

Not a big issue considering I can still play the game fine.  I could try to reinstall it later but for now I'll just not worry about the videos..

Ah, I forgot you don't get the good auras from the mercs till later difficulties.  If I remember correctly one of them gives concentration which is pretty bad ass.  There are also a few other good ones.  I need to stop talking about auras or I might have to make a pally.

Ran into a few of those already and almost died a few times.  I have yet to die but with my play style it is bound to happen soon.

All this Diablo II talk reminded me of this ad which I absolutely love

The Barbarian "trimming" his hedge is priceless.

Well, I haven't had any of those issues, though I did install Diablo II and LOD from scratch this time around (and I installed PlugY as well), so probably a fresh install will solve your issues.

Concentration is pretty badass, though none of the Act II mercenaries get it naturally. You can build a Pride runeword elite polearm for them and get a level 16-20 Concentration aura though, that stacks with it's natural Might aura .

@TruckOsaurus and Mummelman - Man I hate those multi-shot lightining enemies like the beetles on Act II. They can do a number on my skellies on players 4 difficulty and if you don't have enough LR you need to stay far away from them. Luckily, since they all tend to swarm together, I use Corpse Explosion to blow them all to hell before they can do enough damage on my team.

Oh yeah. When I had the rogue companion, she would shoot fast for low damage and still produce as much lightning while I was in the fray dosing out Zeal. That's why I always use the frost mage companion, they're simply brilliant, they stagger and stop enemies, deal decent damage, don't set off lightning bosses and they also allow the destruction of targets so they can't be raised by shamans and other vile bastards (this is espcially cool on Hell, having every mob raised again is awesome...).

Ah yea that is right... That is how I had multiple auras from my merc. I gave him a runeword polearm that has concentration and he came with another aura. It has been so long that I forget most of the runewords / more advance options in D2. It will come back to me soon enough.
