I can respect your opinion. As for the games thing, I heavily supported the PSP and I downloaded over 2/3 of my games. I'm sure Sony will fix it (God, I hope they do) but when key games like Resistance Retribution, Hot Shots Tennis, Mod Nation Racers, and Syphon Filter don't make the cut, I can't support your "Quality > Quantity" argument. Keep in mind that I actually downloaded four PSP games the week before the VIta launch for the sole purpose of transferring them to the Vita when it launched. Luckily for me, all of those games (except MGS1 for the PS1) transferred over..
It's okay if you find the 3DS library to be lacking. If your opinion in games differs from mine, then the Vita is the winner. Grab it. Plus, I'm with you. Gravity Rush is the game I'm most excited for. It was the game I was going to buy a Vita for (I stated it time and again in these forums) but I caved in and bought one at launch.
As for me being a fanboy, I got a PSP in 2009. I got a DS in 2004. When I got my PSP, my support for the DS stopped dead in its tracks. I'm a fan of more mature games. I made countless threads about why the PSP is awesome, why you should hang on to your PSP, and more. In my opinion, the PSP is a better buy than the DS. The DS has some great games but the PSP has more than enough good games than anybody could ever play. It has the kind of games that I'd like to play. With the 3DS, Nintendo now offers the kind of games I'd like in portable (Mature, console styled games) in addition to great games designed with portables in mind. Add to that the DS Library (My DS was gathering dust but since buying a 3DS, I've purchased 3 DS games and I play them often.
The Vita is a great system. The potential is there and if Sony unlocks it, this comparison would have a very different outcome later on down the line. When I get the VIta version of a game with the purchase of the PS3 version (as they promised), when I get Cross Platform play with something besides Pool (which they promised), when my digital PSP/PS1 library works on the Vita (as they promised), I'll gladly call the Vita the winner. Right now, I have a powerful console with games that I buy/play just to keep the system relevant while I wait for the good games to come. I couldn't recommend the Vita to someone over the 3DS with a clear conscience because, in my opinion, there just isn't enough to play on the Vita yet and the 250 PSP games that are supported aren't the best ones.
Thanks for your reply. Oh, and this part isn't directed to you but: People, I asked for input on this thread as it was being made. Only one guy gave me some info and I instantly edited the OP as a result. I wanted this thing to be as honest and accurate as possible when I made it. If I ever do one of these things again (and hopefully I will because I kinda enjoyed it!) help me out while it's being made. I do value the opinion of others! JoelCool, looks like you have some competition in the "long reply" catgory!
