Forums - Gaming - Street Fighter x Tekken on-disc DLC character bundle costs 1600MSP/$20

Eurogamer

The 12 downloadable characters for Street Fighter x Tekken will cost 1600 Microsoft Points or $20.

That's for all 12 of them in a bundle - the only way they will be sold.

Fans reacted angrily last week after it emerged that the 12 characters thought to be exclusive to the upcoming PS Vita version of the crossover fighting game were in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, but locked.

"I know many were worried past character pricing would push the cost of this update sky high, so I'm happy to say Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Elena, Dudley, Alisa, Bryan, Christie, Jack, Lars and Lei will not break the bank," Capcom community manager Brett Elston said.

The character bundle is one piece of a raft of content due out for the game.

Swap costumes - $1.00 (80 MSP) each or in two $13.00 (1040 MSP) Street Fighter and/or Tekken packs - are due out beginning 3rd April. These outfits dress Street Fighter characters as Tekken characters and vice versa.

Also out on 3rd April are three free colour packs, each containing four new additions for customisation, and three new quick combos, which will bring the pre-programmed attack pattern count up to five.

Shortly after, the promised free tournament support title update will release. This adds a faster way to select your gems from the versus screen via a dial system. It will also include a fix for the online sound issues already reported by many players.

Then, a couple of weeks after that, Capcom will release a "massive selection" of free content as a title update. This includes three new Assist Gem packs and six new Boost Gem packs, which add over 60 gems to the selection pool. Three more gem slots will be added per character to accommodate this. This update also brings a free replay analyzer.

And after that, the development team will work to fix the infinite combos players have discovered.

$20 for a bunch of characters already included in another version of the game? Epic fail Capcom.

I refuse to purchase a new Crapcom game ever again. They are by far the worst gaming company in my book and EA is far 2nd.

The way he is almost bragging about how it "wont break the bank" pisses me off even more, did anybody seriously think these characters would even be as high as $20?

Makes me want to vomit. I stupidly bought all of the "DLC" costumes in Street Fighter 4. Then, I purchased even more of them for Super Street Fighter 4. I knew they were all on disc but I was a completionist. The 3DS version came out and all of the DLC was available for free. It was a money grab from Capcom. Rather than add enough value to the game and make more people buy it, the decided to gouge people like me who were loyal to the franchise since the early 90's.

Because of this, I didn't even want to touch Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Still, I somehow wound up with a copy of the Vita version which also has fake DLC. I'm haven't purchased and will not purchase any, though.

I'm tempted to buy Street Fighter X Tekken but, if I do, it will be the Vita version. Still, hearing how Capcom has once again gone the route of hiding content on the disc and making us pay for it again just sicken me. What about people that don't have internet? I'd respect them more if they just came out and said the game costs $80 with everything unlocked instead of hiding stuff from the customer and pretending to give us stuff via paid/free download.

Still, Capcom must love me. As much as I protest, I've purchased three Capcom games in the last 30 days (RE Revelations, Asura's Wrath, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3). I've purchased Street Fighter 4 a whopping THREE times. I love their games but I hate their practices. I don't want to go this route but.....I think I'm going to go on a Capcom boycott.

This gen, I've purchased: Bionic Commando, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Bionic Commando (eShop), Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4 3D, Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha (PSN), Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, Street Figher 3 Third Stike, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 5 Gold, Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D, Resident Evil Revelations, Asura's Wrath, goddam Dark fucking Void, Devil May Cry 4, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dead Rising Case Zero, Dead Rising Case West, Lost Planet, anything I may be forgetting.

Capcom, I've been loyal beyond belief. I think I've given enough. No more.....until Resident Evil 6. But then, that's it!

Me and you both. I own about 30+ Capcom games this gen and I love a lot of their IP but this who Street Fighter X Tekken was the straw that broke the Camel back for me.

What I'm doing now is I won't buy their game Brand New but look for the used market for their game if I want it that bad. I can wait 1 or 2 weeks for a new game to become used.

When you play Asura's Wrath, I hope you'll think about me playing Asura's Wrath thinking about you playing Asura's Wrath. (Fap!)

In one hour. *wink*

This is shit news for gamers.
However, when I always despised DLC in my previous posts, I've seen numerous sites, amateur or professional (sic) that used to praise DLC in every form. For these results.

You reap what you sow.
