Also, there is 13k on the race and trick it on the same run, I personally can't really do race events in nearly every case (or any events where I can die)

All opposite for me, I'm happy if i gold a trick it but, in race, it's normally an automatic platinum.

I'm upset, I had hoped this thread was about how bullshit Death Zone is and even more bullshit you don't get an achievement/trophy for beating it. I probably put a good 3-4 hours into that course.

@ twesterm, I don't know which one that is, but I spent a stupid amount of time on the lava one with Mac, the white out one and the final final (not actual) Deadly Descent. I now just try and avoid all tracks with death pits

The one I was talking about was the very last one one, the grudge match. God that sucked.

That lava one was pretty bad too. I don't know what idiot thought it would be fun to do a run where you can see nothing. Do you know there's actually an achievement for doing that without a headlamp (there's actually an achievement for doing each of them without the required award)?

I tried doing that one once and it was just stupid. It involved blinding holding onto the grind trigger until I fell into a pit I couldn't see.

It was actually easier without the head lamp. Turn up the brightness, avoid glowing spots, problem solved. No annoying bright spot swaying around every time you jump. The only one I can't do with without the special gear is the Antartica one. I freeze to death before I'm half way down no matter where I go.

Those pits are really annoying though, the camera is just a bit too low to the ground to see them coming in time. And even worse are the wingsuit platform jumping levels where the camera swings upward so you can't see the ground until you come crashing down. The alp races where you are on a thin corridor with nothing but air on both sides (real world data sure...) were the worst. This game needs a dislike instead of favorite button so I can avoid the annoying pit levels :)

And yes grudge match sucked, I didn't complete it. Rewind is useless and restarts take just long enough to entertain thoughts of hurling the controller at the screen.

You should play it, it's a great game. The only real negatives are the Deadly Descents.
