Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Nintendo working on New Franchises for WiiU

Hmm... Let's see here:

- Three new franchises

- Two super Mario games (2D and 3D)

- Pikmin 3

- Metroid

- F-Zero

- Wii Sports 3

- Wii Fit 3

^Could those be the Wii U games that they plan to show? Thoughts?

what a stealth troll...

"It seems more evident that Nintendo is pushing harder for new franchises and more creativity."

It seems you have forgotten the new standards:

New IP = Creativity (even if it's the same game with another name).

New name = New IP (even if the gameplay is the same as another one).

I can't wait to play Super Pablo Bros, a platformer about a Spanish builder. Love new IP like that.

Those 3 are a given plus the 2D Mario. No Metroid or 3D Mario. F-Zero? lol

Maybe 1 or 2 of the new franchises. I'm expecting also something like Excitetruck/Excitebots or whatever is called like in the 2006 Wii conference.

Do anyone know if Lego City Stories is first or third party?

WHAT?! That truly is a crazy rumor! Nintendo...new franchise. You don't see those two things in a sentence very often...in a positive way anyways.

Games like Pushmo, the Last Story, Freakyforms and Xenoblade Chronicles are all new IP's developed / published by Nintendo in the last twelve months, and all four got fairly good to amazing reviews. It's just that Nintendo also releases a dozen Mario games a year, so that makes it seem like they only build on their old franchises.

Lego City Stories is definitely third party.

Hmm... F-Zero GX was developed by Sega so I guess that may happen again...

The F-Zero could happen, but if Sega does, will it be show as first or third party? Do it counts in the 10-11 games?

Hmm... Maybe that's why they said 10-11 instead of just 10 or 11?

Jk, I dunno. Mario & Sonic at the Olympics is purely a third party title so I suppose F-Zero would be that too, unless they co-develop it.

Going by the rumor of 10-11 first-party games, I think this would be it:

-3 new franchises
-Pikmin 3
-Wii U Sports
-Wii U Play / minigame collection
-Wii U fit
-Mario sports
-1080°, Wave Race or F-Zero
-Star Fox
-First person Metroid

So true!

Brain Age, Nintendogs, neither were of much use for Nintendo.

Endless ocean was a piece of garbage, a totally useless IP imho, the Wii Sports games were demoes, Wii Music sucked, Wii Play was a bundle of 1$ games sold at 60$. Wii Fit has 0 value except wasted plastic. Trace Memory, who even remembers that?

There are a few others, but why spoil the thread?

(by the way, before ppl report me, this is pure sarcasm)

Too late...

@milkyjoe - Super Pablo Bros? Want it, but, will it be as kiddy as Mario?
