So Benao you are saying that Amy Pond is going away? I have only seen about 10 episodes with Matt Smith. Mainly from The end of the world on the cliff episode or whatever it was and the Christmas specials, and a few random ones.
I also heard Smith was leaving next season, so what is the point?

Can't look for the source right now, I'm at work, but if you google you'll find something. Karen Gillan is leaving next season, not sure about Smith. If he is leaving well new Doctor. I once hear that there is a limited number of transformations, wondering what will do the writers to do.

Yeah, Karen's quitting alright - but Mat will be around for at least one more season!

About the resurections/transformations: I've read that the Doctor only can regenerate 12 times, and somewhere else I read he can do it about 512 times...

Yup I also heard he got 12 regenerations. But I'm pretty sure they can come up with some way to by-pass it, in case they need more "Doctors"

@reasonable I live in a country where almost nobody knows that show, it was only when I spent one year in Australia that I saw a couple of episodes. Futhermore, it's not that easy to find the old episodes in comparison with the new ones. Then, yup, I haven't seen any of the old episodes, want to but, well, I'll need to find a way to get them.

Yeah, I think they're smart enough to come up with something! amazing writer that is :D

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Colin Baker should have been omitted instead of Patrick Troughton. Troughton may have been a stooge but Colin Baker was almost undeniably the worst Doctor. Personally, I voted for Pertwee although Tom Baker and Eccleston were both fantastic.

Have seen some of the older episodes, but really started watching Doctor Who with the 2005 series. I actually really liked Ecclestone but he wasn't around for very long, Tennent was very good as well. I was a bit sceptical of Matt Smith when he came in but he has grown on me and he does have that quirky quality you look for in a Doctor. I really enjoyed the VanGogh episode. All three are on fairly level standings in my opinion, hard to choose.

Can't wait for the series, need follow up on River Song!

The real question should be who was your favourite companion? Easy one for me..... Rose!

Tennant! Definitely!

He had the most lovable episodes, and was the most well-rounded doctor, really. Eccleston was the most serious, and Matt is too cocky. Tennat is the nice middle ground.

(Although story-wise it makes perfect sense. Eccleston just got out of the TIme War, so he has to be dark and broody, Tennant is learning to cope with new life/power/whatever, and finally Smith is where the Doctor's character finally feels all-powerful and what not.)

The last few epsodes Karen Gillan has mainly been a guest rather than The Doctor's companion. Shame to see her go, maybe she will come back on occasion a-la Billie Piper and Freema Agyeman. (although they have been entirely absent from the 11th Doctor, the only link between 11th and previous Doctor's has been River Song)

Also yeah I remember something about it being 12 regenerations, but I don't think it has been mentioned about a limit in any of the new series... I expect it will be glossed over when the time comes that the 12th Doctor doesn't want to continue.

The "512 regenerations" Dannie is talking about is a comment the eleventh Doctor makes in the Sarah Jane spinoff. The black boy in the series (Clyde? His name eludes me) asks the Doctor how many times he can regenerate, and the Doctor replies 507. It's delivered as something of a joke, though, and probably not worth reading too much into.

They're almost definitely not going to end the show because of the 13-lives limit, though. The limit first appeared in a Tom Baker story (The Deadly Assassin, was it?), and the writer of the story has later said that he only chose the number 13 because it was a nice number, and they were never going to reach that amount of Doctors anyway.

They've already dodged the regeneration limit a few times, though. The Master has been given at least one new regeneration cycle (in the Time War at least, and there was something about it in the Five Doctors too).

A bit more on-topic, my favourite Doctor is the tenth one, played by David Tennant. Then the second-place is a three-way tie between Matt Smith, Christoffer Eccleston and Patrick Troughton, all of which were absolutely fantastic in the role. I also really liked the Peter Davison Doctor, so he's definitely my 5th favourite. None of the other 6 Doctors particularly pickled my fancy.

Matt Smith... definitely Matt Smith!

I personally think Tom Baker slightly edges out David Tennant to be my number 1

Tom Baker is the man who separates the true fans from the Johnny-come-latelies!

I give Eccleston second place for the being the comeback kid.
