Excitement was had in the academic and sports worlds as Gary “Green” Oak of Pallet Town, Kanto, twelve-year-old grandson of the eminent Pokémon professor Samuel Oak, discovered the first new Pokémon kind in fifty-seven years. The new Pokémon is an evolved form of Rapidash (National №78) that is larger than its old form (estimated at 2.2 m) and now possesses large wings and a strange mane that allegedly “flows in the air.”

Gary Oak has dubbed the new Pokémon as “Pegablaze,” and despite calls by the Pokémon League and Nation of United Regions for a standard naming committee, Oak has insisted on calling it by his name. It is yet unknown whether the Pokémon’s cry actually resembles Oak’s name.

The new Pokémon has been tentatively been assigned National №650, and is surmised by experts to be a Fire/Flying-type but with Psychic-type powers, as evidenced by recorded telekinesis. The psychic powers appear to be mediated around its horn, which sparkled whenever the Pokémon utilized the powers.

The new Pokémon’s psychic powers has also raised again the controversy over the standard Westwood–Rowan Dual Typing System for Pokémon. Prof. Araragi Aurea Juniper has renewed her attacks on the System, claiming that “Flying was a bogus type in the first place and because of that stupid system people think Venomoth and Scizor can’t fly.” Neither Profs. Nishinomori Westwood V nor Nanakamado Rowan were available for comment.

Oak allegedly discovered the new Pokémon, an evolved form of Rapidash through an unknown process, though Oak has allegedly stated it involves “loser’s blood.” The young trainer revealed the Pokémon in public during a Pokémon Championship Battle at Indigo Plateau last night, against one Ash “Red” Ketchum, also of Pallet Town. Witnesses say that Oak rode the Pokémon into battle and claimed that the new Pokémon would “make you [Ketchum] smell your own farts like the loser you are,”  then used it to defeat Ketchum’s entire party singlehandedly, raising hopes that the new Pokémon is, as Oak claims, “the opposite of smelly losers.” Ketchum could not be reached for comment.

After mowing through Ketchum’s team, Oak ignored calls from League employees and reporters to stay. He instead again mounted the new Pokémon on its back, taunted Ketchum with final a “smell you later!” and rode the new Pokémon into the sky. As they left the new Pokémon allegedly verbally spoke to all present; Champion Wataru Lance witnessed the event and said that the Pokémon spoke loudly and clearly: “It would use the child’s blood to bear the alicorn [sic] children of the Day and Night” and “create a new perfect world of magic, friendship, and harmony [sic].” These reports have been corroborated by Prof. Samuel Oak and Elite Siba Bruno; experts have not reached a consensus on the message’s meaning.

Spokespeople from Humans for the Ethical Reform of Plasma Pokémon Employment and Slavery (HERPPES) have used the new Pokémon’s alleged speech as evidence that Pokémon are actually sentient and have renewed calls for a moratorium on Pokémon battling and coordinating. Still others, such as Prof. Odamaki Birch, have deemed claims of human speech and intelligence a hoax, citing the infamous Talking Meowth case of last year.

Both Gary Oak’s and the new Pokémon’s location are still unknown.
