Finally got around to watching. I'm paused in the middle of the "wrong you-know-what" song, and I am wondering what exactly is supposed to connect a talent for finding gems with being a seamstress. The others have similar problems, notably Rainbow Dash. (Rarity at least connects her cutie mark story with her occupation in her own mind, while Rainbow Dash's need for speed is only peripherally related to her weather management job.) Not a good sign when I think what looks like a key concept is incoherent but we'll see.
[edit: well, that was ... interesting. I do wonder what scale exactly the spell operated on. Did it mess with their memories? (That is suggested by the eyes getting a slideshow.) If it didn't, why were they all doing that stuff instead of trying to figure out how to go back to normal? If it did, what was going on with Apple Bloom/Big Mac/the Cakes/etc.?
[Is this what happened to Cadance? Are there multiple "levels" of alicornhood, and Luna got demoted as a result of being "cured" of NMM?

Wow what is wrong with you?? Unless you actually know all of what is going on with Soleron where the hell do you get off telling him not to take possibly much-needed medication? There are awful side effects to the drugs they give schizophrenics too. If Soleron needs to take a chemical to not end up killing himself or going through every day hating everything and everyone, well there are worse things than a 2% chance* of diabetes. "Man up and learn to live with it until it gets better" is not exactly comprehensive treatment.
On the other hand Soleron antidepressants get handed out a little too freely in some areas of society so just ... need them before you take them, you know? If you're getting professional help and a second opinion on anything serious they give you then I guess it's called for.

To be perfectly honest I'm surprised everything genuinely thought that Soleron was going to get anti-depressants in the first place. It's a (bad) joke implying the episode was so bad it put him in a state of depression only drugs could get him out of.
Well he's been such a sad sack in this thread I found it plausible he was self-diagnosing clinical depression.

This is why I tried to give him some encouragement before going to the medication route because it's very easy to get prescribed antidepressants in the UK and it's become quite common practice in the UK for people with mild to moderate depression to get prescribed antidepressants. This is a complication due to the fact that these medications provide little to no palliative effect on patients with mild depression so they will be putting themselves at risk of suffereing from the adverse affects for no reason. These types of drugs are aimed at patients with severe depression.
However it's like you said, we don't know the severity of his depression so it may have been premature of me to advise against psychoactive drugs at this moment in time. I just made my assumption based of the the details he sometimes provided in this thread. I should think more carefully before trying to help someone out. >_<
It's true, I don't know that antidepressants are appropriate in my situation, because I can still do life if necessary, I just feel abjectly terrible while doing so.
Access to counselling or other treatments is very limited unless you go private, NHS does like to prescribe antidepressants more than needed. What I NEED is time off school (they would readily prescribe time off work) but at Cambridge that is not possible because of 800 year old BS regulations.
