I finally gave in and watched the first episode. After watching it, I really didn't care for it much, but figured since it was a two-parter I should finish it. I liked the second episode much better

I do go to their IRC channel #tlponies when there's an episode on OR when there's a major tournament (GSL/MLG) because there's just enough people so that it's fun but that everyone still knows and can respond to each other unlike a chat channel on a stream.

Well the first time I came into contact with it was when I clicked on a link from some site (I think it was NeoGaf) and it lead to some MLP StarCarft trailer. First thing that came to my mind was what the hell is this. I thought it was some sort of amv for a kids film. The video was pretty well made too. A couple of months later during the E3 period I was on an IRC chat with some of my friends and one of them kept spamming 2 second long Pinkie Pie clips. Out of curiosity I watched one and then decided to watch another related video on the side bar, it kinda led to a chain reaction and I probably ended up watching like 40 short clips. I don't why they were so addictive but it was the scenes that involved Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy going crazy that made me decide to give the first episode a try. I didn't really like it and it felt so weird watching it, especially the opening music. I gave the second episode a chance because I thought it would be pretty stupid of me to judge a show just from the pilot, especially a show this popular (back then the episodes had like a million views each until Hasbro took them down). The second episode was better but still not to my liking. It was only until the third episode where things started to pick up and the show became progressively better after that. And now... well I like it, the intro still makes me cringe though every time I see it and makes me think why am I watching this but when the episode kicks in I'm like oh yeah that's why. I still won't tell anyone irl about my liking for this, that shit is staying in the closet!

Italian theme song is much better (the random PMV montage they did to accompany it isn't though)

Oh wow that's much better, It's like an intro for one of the old school animes I used to watch as a kid. Hopefully they'll use something decent in the English season 3 opening, I won't get my hopes up though.

Call me crazy, but I actually like the intro... I like this one better, but I think the song is kinda catchy.

I actually got into the show because of your thread, radish. I had no idea what a brony was and I had never really paid any attention to the show's existence, but I happened to have some spare time that day. So I started to watch a few episodes. I kept telling myself that I didn't really like the show. I admitted that I was a bit surprised by the very first two episodes, since I didn't expect things to be so serious and adventurous. I kept telling myself I didn't really like the show up until I saw Dragonshy. Then I stopped lying to myself.

I've been trying to draw analogies between the Mane Six and various anime characters, mostly drawn by strong observations that Twilight Sparkle is Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury and Fluttershy is Hinata Hyuga (on the second observation I am hardly alone, being somewhere between obvious and "doi"). Who else really matches?
