Here's an interesting video about some ideas from Lauren Faust... It's not an actual interview, so this could all be lies, but who knows.

-Faust had a conception of who Celestia and Luna's parents, the King and Queen, were, but never incorporated it into an episode idea
-Her idea for Scootaloo is that she's physically handicapped, she can't fly not because she's too young, but just because she can't fly, and would have had an episode addressing that, and how you have to accept who you are
-Ditzy Doo and Derpy Hooves syncretized because Ditzy was conceived as a faceless background pony, bringer of mayhem, before she encountered the Derpy meme, and then made Ditzy and Derpy one.
-There was an unused episode concept involving Applejack and Rainbow Dash journeying through the forest and encountering a pony raised by (possibly) non-sentient deer, who thought he himself was a deer, with Dash trying to convince him he was a pony and AJ wanting to respect his lifestyle.

Do you have a favourite episode or song?

I was about 30 seconds into it and then my friend called for me and I went out. I will watch it sometime tomorrow, i promise!

Episode; I liked both the Discord episodes a lot, Dragonshy, A Friend in Deed and Lesson Zero the most probably although I can't remember there being a single episode I was thought wasn't as good as the other ones.

Good choices there. There has been some debate comparing S2 to S1 and some thought S2 was less consistent, but I now think that's mostly high expectations having coming into S1 with none.

Song; This is so hard to choose :G This Day Aria or the Smile Song were probably my favourites upon first listening (a lot of the other songs had to grow on me) but I also really like Winter Wrap Up purely because I heard it well before watching an episode of MLP and thus it was a large part of me becoming a brony.

WWU got me into ponies as well. Someone linked to that and I liked it enough to give it a chance.

In terms of fan music my current favourites are Discord (EuroChaos Mix) and The Moon Rises. (I'm afraid to say I have had the time to listen to your playlist yet, I want to get through it all in one go so I remember what I have listened to but there is just so much music on it :G )

I wasn't expecting anyone to listen to the whole thing :) , if you find one new thing you like that'd be great.

In response to those ideas I think the Scooterloo one interests me the most. It would be a good one for them to include into the show lesson-wise and if it's done properly it would be an interesting episode. It was also give more background to her which like insomniac said would make a more interesting character.

Scoot needs an episode, and the idea of sad/emotional episode hasn't been explored much.
