Both are written with the fandom in mind. For example, the first fic is largely a parody of other peoples' work, while the second one focuses on a couple of background ponies and an OC.

While i have no interrest in watching the show (actually, i DID watch the first 10 episodes), i am blown by what the Brony-Community does.

That's not a PMV, that's fanmusic. PMV is a record label song (usually) with scenes from the show illustrating it in time with the music.
