Forums - Gaming - First footage of the true Super Mario Galaxy killer - Angry Birds: Space

^Yup, I just commented on that -> http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4462194

For Mario Kart Wii it would be around 40$ x 31.71M = $1.268B (if not more. Last time I checked it was 47$ revenue for 1st party 60$ games, but with price discounts and stuff, 40$ should be goo )

Around the Network

so 31 million times 40 is $1240000000.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Nintendo doesnt give a shit about Angry Birds. And besides Angry Birds, I still havent heard anybody say anything about the rest of IOS's big name games. I wonder why

Of course you're right. The last question that's left is, can angry birds make 31M trickle down. The worst things can go to are say 3-10M. But even then they'll still make nearly as much or more revenue than angrybirds, but at what (production) cost?

They should give a shit, but not too too much. Worst case scenario they can lower the price of their games and compete on that level. There is no dead end for Nintendo at this point in their strategy anymore. If worst comes to worst, as I said, they can just cause a new low-end disruption and blow AB's-type games out of the water.

I'm just going to use games from this Gen because I've stated before gaming has declined, it's actually on the rise. YOu just have to make good games

Mario Kart Wii 31.71M
Wii Play 28.52M
New Super Mario Bros 25.13M
Nintendogs 24.36M
Wii Fit 22.70M
Wii Fit Plus 20.25M
Brain Age 2 15.20M
Pokemon P/D 17.97 M
Pokemon B/W 13.79M
Halo 311.48M
Pokemon SS/HG 11.23 M
Super Mario Galaxy 10.00M
Just Dance 2 9.02M
Halo Reach 8.85M
Mario & Sonic Olympics 7.82M
Mario Party 8 7.8-M
Pokemon Platinum 7.46M
Wii Party 7.31M
GraGrand Theft Auto Liberty City 7.30M
Gran Turismo 5 7.29M
Super Mario Galaxy 2 6.69M
Just Dance 6.64M
Big Brain Academy 6.53M
Zelda TP 6.53M
Gears of War 2 6.16M
Halo 3 ODST 6.02M
Gears of War 5.92M
Super Mario 3D Land 5.51M
Uncharted 2 5.49M
Donkey Kong Country Returns 5.43M

This list goes on and on
This isnt even including Multiplatorm games like Call of Duty, Grand theft Auto, Assassins Creed, FIFA, Madden, Red Dead Redmption and countless others. Each Call of duty Alon sales close 30 million copies with each game that they make.

Other words, shutup about a 99c games and how they sale 100m, the profits are still not the same and like I said very few are succesful on the IOS market

Don't Wii games cost $50?

Well, I wasn't sure whether or not to inclue the distribution costs in the revenue number, since after the fact you still need to subtract development cost (which is not counted in the price of the game).

So maybe yeah, you could boost that number up by an extra 25 to 50%. Still huge tho.

Don't you mean boost it down? You said 1st party Wii games cost $60, but I think they go for $50, as opposed to HD games.

Yup, you're absolutely right my correct friend! IGN generally has the MSRPs on their reviews, and I just checked, it's 49.99$. If you use my first calculation, it would boost it down some 14%, if you use the full price of 50$, it should should be higher by 25%.

So either

33$ x 31.71M = 1.057B (billion)

or (using 50$, no distro costs)

50$ x 31.71M = 1.588 B

That would be an oxymoron, because "boost" refers to an increase.

Anyway, $50 would be the usual price for a Wii game. Not much of a point to account for distribution and development costs when it isn't done for Angry Birds either. While AB doesn't have distribution costs, I think 30 % of the revenue is taken by Apple.

If  that's true, then AB is left with 70% of the $225M figure. That leaves them with $157M.

According to my two figures above ($1.057B$1.588B), best case scenario Nintendo would be beating them by a factor of 10 on Mario Kart Wii.
