Regarding Pikmin time limits, I love the day/night cycle which in effect is sort of time limit breaking up gameplay. However, I disliked the 30 day oxygen limit of the original; I take my time playing games and it forced me to rush the game, instead of savouring the experience and playing it at my preferred pace.

Pikmin 2 was generally a better game, there's no doubt. However it did lack the urgency of the first game. You could always stop what you were doing before sunset and continue the next day. Even tasks that reset didn't feel urgent anymore cause you knew it was possible to get them done in a single day, and you had as many days as you wanted to figure out how.

So bringing back time limits isn't necesarily a bad idea. Maybe they should be done differently, maybe less punishing, but that feeling of urgency is important. Of course they could also create urency in other ways, such as having certain animals be able to attack you during the night and steal parts of the ship you've already collected, so you wouldn't be able to become complacent.

Another thing I hope they explore in the game, without lowering the urgency, is night time levels. Those could be something beautiful on Wii U! I want to see more diverse environments in general, maybe underwater explorartion, etc.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Great news, you have simply no idea how that will improve things for me!

Nintendo: All Wii U and 3DS games will be available digitally and at retailers

Another piece of good news coming from Cindy Gordon, vice-president of corporate affairs at Nintendo of America, concerns the digital release of Wii U and 3DS games. Apparently there are plans to make “every” title for both platforms available through both digital and retail means.

This is something that Nintendo has discussed in the past, but another confirmation is welcome.

“What we said is that every game for the Wii U, and this is true for the Nintendo 3DS too, will be available in both packaged as well as digital. It’s really about choice. What I remember as a parent, I prefer the download because I won’t lose the disk. But some people thrive on [having the physical game], to each his own.”

Well, we still don't know that. But if it's every game, even better.

People would think my game collection is lame with only third parties in it!

Animal Crossing: Jump Out is still coming to the 3DS

Reggie recently confirmed that Animal Crossing is still in development for the 3DS.

I still don't know why there's a Wii U thread, but oh well

This can be pretty big.

GameTrailers: The Wii U game that prompted the "pretty damn good" launch lineup was never shown at E3

Gametrailers editor-in-chief Shane Satterfield has revealed that Wii U projects that he knew about prior to E3 2012 remain unannounced.

Just realized that a Wii U game I knew about well before E3 was never announced at the show,” Satterfield explained on social media site Twitter. “I’m guessing there are others to come as well.”

Satterfield previously shared back in April that the Wii U launch line-up was “going to surprise people.”

This is indeed wonderful news. Although now it makes we question the necessity of still having region locking. I can understand the idea of wanting to translate and localize certain games, but other than that I always thought region locking was about correct distribution of income between the different branches of a global company, as well as adhering to international laws of commerce. The former can be easily addressed by referencing the user's IP address when he downloads the game, and the latter never seemed to bother Nintendo on handhelds until recently...

I hope at the very least Nintendo make available some Japanese games we would never see otherwise. Even untranslated I'm sure much fun can be had with them!

This could be interesting, depending on the number of pokémon you can capture and transfe

Maybe in dreamworld they'll let you capture all 600+, but I doubt that.

It's a buy if they let at least 100. Less than that, no thanks
