I've been wanting to play the Witcher games ever since the original and was always jealous of PC players because of it. Now I can finally play the second one just in a few more weeks. Need to pre-order ASAP!

I haven't played it all the way through yet but I'd wager about 25-35 hours based on how much you decide to explore and do side quests. However, in order to actually see all the content the game has to offer you definitely require 2 playthroughs (more so than any other game I've ever played). The decision stuff in the game isn't basic "different cutscene here" or "slightly different outcome there". That's really all I will say as I don't spoil anything (they've probably already mentioned why in these dev diaries); the decisions in the game definitely warrant more than 1 play through if you want to see all the content on offer. And beyond that they have the Arena mode if you just want to hop in and do some quick combat (think God of War 3's combat arena mode except you don't need to unlock it in TW2). |
Is there any way to check the amount of time you spent playing the game ? Because 25 - 35 hours seems a bit too much tads. I did all the side quests, explored every nook and cranny, did a fair bit of sigh seeing as well ^^, and yet at the end of it, i felt it was way too short. It's one of those games that catch you by surprise when the credits start rolling, it feels like it should only be the half way point.
I loved the game, but the length was one of the only gripes i had with it.
@usrevenge - like tads says, the game makes a compelling case for a second playthrough, so i guess you could add that to replay value. But if you not the kinda gamer to do a second playthrough then i feel you gonna be let down by the length, especially considering that this is an RPG.
visually i don't think there's anything else that looks as good on console, it's great to see that this game has scale as well and it's not just for show, you can physically go to those places
