I think my problem is my parents did not like Moore so we skipped a generation , hit Dalton, did not like him, then I had nothing else as a kid until I watched Goldeneye myself. Then I just loved Brosnan. Craig did not destroy it and he put on the bourne look to it as to make it hip for this day and age so I like him as well. If Craig would have come out when I was 50 I probably would have told him to jump over a bridge and not to mess with a classic movie series.

I see a lot of people comparing Craig to Bourne like you do here, but I just don't see it.  I think that Craig is more of a mixture of the ruthless Bond from the novel and the serious, physical side of Sean Connery.  The only similarity is the lighter hair and the awful Bourne like camera shaking in Quantum of Solace.

I cannot believe people are saying this is their favorite bond movie! Connery and Brosnan and Craig are great! Even the 80's guys was so so.

Well, it's my favourite to watch. I like the story, I like the characters, and I like the setting more than any other Bond movie. It's not about which actor is the coolest actor who played Bond (that would be Connery. imo).

For what it's worth, my second favourite is From Russia With Love.

Timothy Dalton was the Bond I grew up on - so the two Dalton movies are also in my top 5 - but not just because of nostalgia, but because I think they are genuinely great Bond movies.

I am a child of the late 80's to mid 90's as well. But for some reason I knew as a kid that Dalton was not the "it" factor in the Bond world. We would try to watch his movies on TV, but it would just not work out. I do like Dalton in Hot Fuzz though!

dalton wanted to take bond back to what he originally was as in a cold killer type, like craig did,he was before his time in a way,i quite like the dalton bonds when i rewatch them even though one story is just a drugs story which i find boring for bonds, its funny how we all swing and roundabout with bonds, really there is one for each time of your life sort of thing and how you are feeling,i like dalton in hot fuzz he was in something else i saw recently but can't remember now, have to check imdb

Whem I first watched The Living Daylights, I couldn't stand it.  I liked Licence to Kill much more.  Then I rewatched TLD and didn't hate it anymore.  The problem with Dalton was that he was the exact opposite of Roger Moore, and I think that most Bond fans were brainwashed into thinking that he should be a joke telling machine.  Timothy Dalton is actually very close to the James Bond from Ian Fleming's books (this includes the positives and negatives).

thats true about dalton not a bad AHA song for TLD though,LTK is a good story isn't it as bond loses it if remember(not that i rally can),i cannot remember the song or who sang it either right now.thinks of 80's stuff,is it tina turner or something

I didn't really like the a-ha song, to be honest.  Licence to kill was sung by Gladys Knight ( I didn't care for this song either).   Tina Turner sang GoldenEye, which I did like.  :p

LTK was a tale of revenge where Bond definitely lost it.

Now , on your 5th or 6th review the deep down truth is starting to come out like a visit to the pychiatrist. My father hated Moore, so I did as well.

I do not mean in that way. Just the nity gritty ruffness that is in a bourne movie. Parkour running, blood, fast paced, type of movie.

I know.  It's kind of like Licence to Kill.  :p

gladys knight thats right, the tune of the song came into my head as i was cooking dinne, haha

i like the view to a kill,TLD,LTK songs(80's bias) i shall have to refrain from judging the ones that come after until i see them in context again but its safe to say i swing to the old fashioned type song when it comes to bond and not a rocky theme

First off, I would like to tell you that it's time to take your pills now.

Second off, the reason that Lazenby didn't do another is because after he was offered a seven movie role his idiot agent told him not to sign it since he would be typecast and that audiences would soon be losing interest in movies like Bond and wanted to see movies like Easy Rider or something like that.

I'm glad that you like it!

After that, the world never heard from him or his agent every again....or Easy Rider.

But we still hear from that guy who played the crazy lawyer in Easy Rider.  What was his name?  Oh yeah... Jack Nicholson.

So what was the deal with that whole, Bond getting married/in love stuff that was on the vhs box cover?

Did the dvd version you watched have the Pink Panther cartoon on it?

I can't answer that since I never have seen that VHS cover.

No, my DVD did not have the Pink Panther cartoon but I do own all of the Pink Panther movies.  I'd do a series of reviews on those but it'd be the same review everytime.  Dreyfus reluctantly assigns Clouseau to a case.  Clouseau does something stupid.  Dreyfus gets incensed and eventually tries to kill him.  Clouseau inadvertently solves the case of the stolen Pink Panther diamond.  Kato jumps out and attacks Clouseau.  Roll credits.
