so, i was going to start this in a new topic, but i don't have 50 posts yet... lame. Anyway it is wiiu related and i thought alot of nintengoers may find interesting. This may be absolutely nothing, but by now i think alot of people have seen the "nintendo sombie wiiu video", but has anyone asked what game that could be. I'm sure alot of people are thinking "random tech demo", but the symbol of the game (the pistol) made me flash back to box art of a wii game that has seemed to vanished. Does anyone remember "Grinder" by high voltage software? check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMN-4dNt37o

It looks like Nintendo listened to the third parties this time around. Hopefully, their plan to rule 'All' plays out well in the end. It seems that Wii U will either make Nintendo, or break Nintendo. We shall have a better picture come E3, after price is announced, and most definitely how much marketing & games are available come launch time.

1. Speculation regarding the demo is talked about in several threads.

2. The semi-automatic guns in The Grinder were very stylized with intricate engravings along the barrel.  That wasn't present in the zombie demo video.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo released a global Nintendo Direct video revealing new information about the upcoming Wii U game console, including details about the system’s touch-screen controller, the Wii U GamePad. In the video, which can be viewed online at http://www.youtube.com/nintendo, Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata illustrates how Wii U will revolutionize how people connect with games, each other and entertainment through the system’s unique and integrated second-screen controller. The Nintendo Direct video included information about:

New ways to play: With the television and the Wii U GamePad working as two integrated screens, Wii U creates unique possibilities for gaming, allowing “asymmetric” game play where each player can have different goals, challenges and views within the same shared gaming experience.

Miiverse: Miiverse is a brand-new network communication system that lets gamers from around the world share experiences, discuss games and discover new content. Using their personalized Mii character, players enter Miiverse and see games, applications or entertainment content that either they have interacted with recently, expressed interest in learning more about or that their friends are using or discussing. From here they can challenge their friends to play together, ask a question about a difficult level or discover new elements of their favorite games they never knew existed. After a notable achievement or other share-worthy moment, players can pause their game or application and seamlessly post messages to the Miiverse community.

Wii U GamePad controls: In addition to the previously announced touch-screen and motion controls, the Wii U GamePad was redesigned and improved from its reveal in 2011. The new form factor offers players dual analog stick controls and can be used as a remote control for users’ TVs, even while the Wii U console is turned off. Nintendo also announced availability of the Wii U Pro Controller as a separate peripheral.

Wii compatibility: All game discs for the Wii system are compatible with Wii U, and the system will support controllers for the Wii system.

Additional information about Wii U will be revealed at the Nintendo All-Access Presentation @ E3 2012, beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, June 5. To follow all of Nintendo’s news and announcements from the E3 Expo, visit http://e3.nintendo.com, and watch for updates on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

The price and launch will not be announced at E3 but by Nintendo, more than likely in a Nintendo Direct later.

Chasing Aurora heading to Wii U store

June 4th, 2012 Posted in Posted by Valay, Videos, Wii U

A few years ago, Broken Rules brought “And Yet It Moves” to WiiWare. The same company has now revealed Chasing Aurora, which will be released on the Wii U’s digital store.

According to IGN, “Chasing Aurora is a 2D aerial action game set in the alps. This open world experience will feature physics-based flight and air combat. It will also come with four different multiplayer modes.”

Broken Rules says that the game will be available in late 2012. An official site can be accessed here.

Sweet! Looks like there will be a ton of games. In less than 21 hours wii will be in Wii U bliss!

By the way, I really dig the name "GamePad" for the Wii U controller. I think the name "Wii U" will still take some getting used to, maybe several months more of getting used to, but it'll work.

I've just watched Microsoft e3 presentation, and it left a bitter taste in my mouth... I felt the hype level go down, but reading all of this brings it up a bit! Thanks for that!!!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

black ops 2 will be released for the wii U at launch, with the tablet controlling drones and other things. mark my words, let's see if i'm right tomorrow....

I hope so - not that I care about the game, but that Nintendo needs 3rd party support...
