Couldn't care less. I buy from Play.com or Amazon pretty much always. I went to GAME one time ever, to get Uncharted GA and a memory card for my VITA, never going again.

I'm fed up of my local Game store having no new copies of games once they're over a month old so I couldn't care less if they go bust. It would at least open up the market for a hungrier company more in tune with what customers actually want from a games retailer.

I absolutely refuse to buy unsealed new games. I'll tell them to give me another copy or i'll go to Walmart down the street. Though I shop primarily on Amazon.com now anyways.

Yea, I also only receive newly wrapped games when I purchase a game new at Gamestop. Not sure where people get the idea that they open every new copy.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

I have always enjoyed Gamestop. Good set up, they just reorganized their stores. It cannot be any worse than a "Game" store.

Gamestop take all new games out of their seals? Yes it can be worse.

Game do and have done that for the past 10 years. Mind you haven't bought a game there for a year or so. They have a sliding draw behind the paying desk and just pop the disksmanuals out of sleeves and plonk them in the box off the shelf then put a seal on the game box so you can't return it if you have opened it.

I hope Gamestop doesn't buy out GAME, it will ruin it's image.

Game are terrible when it comes to prices, customer service and bundles. I don't know anything about GameStop though.. Can anyone shed some light?

Doubt Gamestop are interested in a dying business. I really can't see how they'll turn around GAME as the reality is here in the UK, they simply cannot compete with online retailers and supermarkets. ASDA, Tesco, Argos, Sainsburys all entered the second hand game market, with CEX's popping up absolutely everywhere, and the online retailers undercut first hand games prices by around 20% nowadays. Gamestop ain't gonna change that harsh reality.

The sad fact is GAME offer absolutely nothing a host of other retailers do. If they're going to turn it around it'd require a complete overhaul of their image and perception, something I don't think the Gamestop group are equipped to do.

Even though GAME is the last major gaming-only brick-and-mortar left, I can't say I'll mourn it. It overcharged, had pretty awful service, and was perpetually trying to unload used games. Americans: think of it as a British version of GameStop.

Maybe something else will spring up to take its place, but I doubt it; there aren't really any other retail gaming chains. I think the physical gaming store is honestly dying, and people are going to be moving, not just to big sites like Play and Amazon, but online gaming retailers like ShopTo and TheGameCollection, which have lower prices and better service.

CEX always seems to have huge queue's, majority  all of that is used games as well and they seem to need to bulk their shelf space out, so they coudl easily dabble in new games as well.
