Cuz it's not fun when there are no adjustments.

Funny story: I just went into Best Buy and two parents who just bought two Vitas for their kids were looking for some games to buy for it. Weird enough, they almost bought PSP games for it. Luckily, I told them that they had to buy PSP games on the PSN store to play them. I think they were about to buy Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and WipEout Pure.

I'm sorry but why do people keep saying the vita's sales are pre-launch? Don't be deluded. They aren't at all. The Vita was available to the public.

It was simply a soft launch. The vita was still available to anyone who wanted one. You can't use ridiculous logic such as 'This week and next week should be combined'' or talk about how it is pre-launch. Trying to figure out how something being sold is pre-launch is maddening.

Soft launch does not equal pre-launch. Pre-launch would be before it was on sale. It was on sale so can't be pre-launch. It can only be pre-hard launch.

What pezus said. You're arguing over the wording "prelaunch" versus "official launch." I'm just talking about how last week and this week should be counted as one since it would give us the best picture of what Vita's first week sales are. In the case of the Vita, it would be fair to count last week's sales with this week's sales because the people who bought them for $350 instead of $250 or $300 like the rest of us have more than enough reason to get one on launch week instead. If there was no first edition bundle, can't you see this would be the case? I felt like I just repeated myself. How do I know that these 75k people wouldn't wait 2 weeks or several months before putting down money for a Vita? Simple, they paid $350 for their limited bundle that they had to get from certain retailers. They want the Vita now.

Maybe it's because there hasn't been the issue of prelaunch numbers before. It only seems ridiculous to you since it has never been done before. If lets say, all games that came out also had prelaunch versions where you had to pay an extra $10 to get it a week early, then it would not be wrong to count those sales along with people who bought them for $60 to calculate the game's launch sales. But do the publishers do this? No, it doesn't make any sense and I don't think people would see any value in that and would instead get angry that they were trying to extract more money out of us. However, it makes way more sense for a brand new console. I know that the first edition bundle sales and launch sales are physically two separate things. But if we want to know the overall picture on how the Vita did, then we should look at both weeks as though they were one. I think Sony was smart by implementing this first edition bundle as it ensures that launch week goes by more smoothly and they can sell more 3G Vitas.

Weird stuff.

Take my love, take my land..

@Nintendogamer It should be. Next week on VGChartz will count to Feb 25th, three days into full launch. I still say that this week counts as a launch, but some people just don't want to believe it.

Ok, so why is a week early bundle (granted its dearer) any less relevant than the actual full first week sales?

I think that most of the cheaper game deals, and discounts, were not really available anyway untill last week. 75k is the number of people who wanted the Vita asap.

$350. That's why. I'm not even sure if the First Edition bundle was available in all retailers or how many were shipped.

These Vita numbers are pre-launch. Think of them as Week 0.

1. There was a limited number of First Edition bundles.
2. It costs $350
3. Most people waited till launch day to buy the $250 Wi-Fi only.

Yes, it was a pre-launch. The official Vita launch is February 22. That's when it was available to the masses.
