When will the PS3 ltd sales equal the X360 ltd sales?

1. I stated a truth about year for year sales, in which actual majority years of existence Sony has outsold Microsoft. This Microsoft really needed the head start and they split Sonys core marketshare in half. So am I wrong if said that Sony launched with Microsoft they would be ahead of Microsoft by more than Microsoft has against them now?

2. I stated a truth about actual console value sales.  

3. I stated a truth that unless Sony attacks the casuals, they cant catch up to Microsoft. A price cut on a Kinect bundle would only prove worse for Sony this gen. Sony would need a miracle in winning over the casuals this gen to catch up to Microsoft or a truly hot new core IP everyone will want to buy PS3 for, who dont already own one. Selling 18 million kinect sensors in a fourteen months is no joke. (This is the current truth which holds true the most)

What do you want me to say that Microsofts core titles are selling the console?  If there was no "Kinect Effect" I'd say Sony would outsell them by next year based on straight console value, but thats not the case. Kinect saved Microsofts sales and propped them up in every month outside of september in 2011. Sony with or without Kinect was whipping Microsofts ass  last year until Kinect showed its true holiday market value in the US on Black Friday. That spoke volumes to me. I will not state a year now that Sony can outsell Microsoft until Kinect sales stabalize (which its not). I'm picking up my 360 controller right now and will at this point say thats hilarious. Pardon me, I'm going back to gaming now.

Still no date, cmon it's really not hard and it is after all the POINT of this thread, something you're excellent at missing.

The whole point of this is that it is illogical to give a date unless the Kinects sales level out. I'm not going to be stupid and make a date unless I am sure Sony has won over the casuals like Microsoft has. Sony will continue to sell steady, but Microsoft has the casual crowd. The question is...how long?

You're on a site dedicated to making estimations on incomplete data yet you can't make one prediction given all the information availble to you here.  If you didn't want to post a date you could have said so in one sentence and not trolled people bringing off topic numbers into the thread.  I think we're done though as it's clear you're not prepared to actually anything put in black and white.

Their sales aren't based on the same focal group. Its quite clear Microsoft has the ball in their court for another year or two if they keep wowing casuals with Kinect. Pit anyone section of gamers vs casual sales and you will lose. I am a gamer, but to make a prediction riding against the majority of the market is folly. If you're paying attention, Its retarded... simply put. Let it go.

He basically told you that the doesn't name a date, because at this point in time he doesn't really think that it will ever happen.

23% believe the PS3 will overtake the X360 during the first half of 2013.

53% believe the PS3 will overtake the X360 in sales by July 1, 2014 .

64% believe the PS3 will overtake the X360 before the end of 2014.

36% believe the PS3 will not overtake the X360 until 2015 and beyond.

Later option has around 25% of the vote.
