Yeah thanks for that!

I think I turned that off ages ago.

As a regular porn watcher and Google chrome user, what does this mean for me?

I didn't know you could go in and view all your web history with your google account, that is pretty neat.

One more question along with the previous post I made in the first page.

What if you are not logged in a google account and use google search engine, it wouldnt affect you right...? Just for clarification ;x.

If you aren't logged into your account then your search history doesn't get logged.

I'm not a privacy-whore but I did this anyway. Just to be safe :D

Google chrome annoys me enough. I don't want someone to open up my browser and see 8 giant preview pics of my most recent visited places. What happens if one is a dirty site?

Always use Incognito browsing when visiting dirty site.

This protection was especially important because search data can reveal particularly sensitive information about you, including facts about your location, interests, age, sexual orientation, religion, health concerns, and more.

I don't have a Google account, but...why would they go through with this policy if there's this kind of fallout?

$$$$$$$$$$

Haven't the guys at Google usually avoided going for the quick buck? Or are the originals gone?

He's wrong. Its not for $$ as in profits. Its something they should have done on day one. Google's biggest issue is its stove pipe construction. They start all sorts of new items without a whole lot of communication between themselves. This is why Android isn't as seamless as iOS or WP7. However, that's changing.

Google is finally connecting all their various services behind a single account. Your gmail account is now yoru Google account and it holds the keys to everything Google offers. That's all this really means.

This enables them to better support the process, reduce costs on overlapping structure, provide a better user experience, and promote growth into future products easier.

In the next few years you'll see Android, Chrome OS, Chrome browser, Google TV, Google Plus, and other new devices all merge into a single ecosystem. Its already happening and the center of it all will realistically be Android and Chrome.

Personally, I'm all for it as I love Google's services and overall approach.

Fact of the matter is that Google already has EVERYONE's search and usage history cached. Regardless if you save it to your gmail/google account or not, its tied to your IPs more anonymously. Just the same as Yahoo, Bing, iOS, any ISP, etc.

This simply a step in Google's continued approach to simplifying their structure.

It's always about money, fine lines to policy changes are like Bills passed in congress, worded the right way,  your data can be sold/used in a way to advertise to you.   Google has my data, but will now use it accross ALL it's products.  It's also the 'beginning' of a larger 'track everyone, everywhere, all the time' project, it was actually 'thought up' many years ago.

Edit:  This will help.

The good: Anything that simplifies privacy policies makes sense—even if you may not agree with them. Google has 70 privacy documents today. That will be boiled down to one privacy policy.

The bad: Unified user experience aside, it was kind of nice to have my YouTube personas different from say, Gmail and Google+. Philosophically it makes sense. Emotionally I’m not so sure I’m on board the one for all approach.

The scary: Google will know more about you than your wife does. Everything across your screens will be integrated and tracked. Google noted that it collects information you provide, data from your usage, device information and location. Unique applications are also noted. Sure you can use Google’s dashboard and ad manager to cut things out, but this policy feels Big Brother-ish. Google is watching you as long as you are logged in. It’s also unclear whether this privacy policy move will be considered bundling in some way by regulators. This unified experience hook appears to be at least partially aimed at juicing Google+. Google responded with clarification: Google noted that it already has all that data, but it’s now integrating that information across products. It’s a change in how Google will use the data not what it collects. In other words, Google already knows more about you than your wife.

The bottom line here is that you should start perusing Google’s terms of service and privacy policies pronto.
