Then again, Seece brings up a good point, after all the measures taken to boost the 3DS... they very well may make an exception, or go the route Rol suggests.

Don't wanna be a dick here but while Gold/ Silver were released for GB, Crystal was only playable on GBC. I'm guessing you didn't include this example for your argument as it is the exception, but this one could suggest that it comes out on the 3DS.

Sorry turtuls, I meant crystal. :D And yeah, so G/S + Crystal were all released on the GBC right?

Pokemon Emerald came out in 2005 for the SP.

And it hasn't even been a year since Black/White came out and HeartGold/Soul Silver came out almost 2 years ago. If Gray releases this year, then it's 3 Pokemon games in 3 years.

Thing is though, HG/SS is a remake of G/S for Game Boy color, so you can't really count them like a totally new pokemon game.

That's true. However, it's still 3 Pokemon games in 3 years. The sales for Pokemon Gray would suffer from this and so will the "freshness" of the Pokemon series. Nintendo should just wait until 2013/2014 to release a Pokemon Generation VI game and not make a Pokemon Gray. They have a new Smash Bros and New Super Mario Bros. games to release beforehand anyway.

As a fan myself, I rather have a new Pokemon game than a remake.

But I thought you guys bought the 3rd entry in the set regardless, since it holds more areas and pokemon to capture? Isn't that true or am I totally off?
