Forums - Movies & TV - Casino Royale 1967 Review

Interesting poker770 review. There were few sentences that I had to read twice and each time say "WTF" in my head :D I have never seen this movie but the review made me happy that I didn't.

Wow I didn't even know there was a 1967 Casino Royale! After reading your review I have no desire to watch it either. Still interesting though, cool review!

From the trailer I most def. want to see this movie. Even Amps review made it actually seem like a fun 60's comedy. Even though Orson Wells was a jerk I am sure it would be fun to watch him play an evil bond villain. Where in the world did you find this movie Amp?

I found it at the local Best Buy.  I'm pretty sure that it would be no problem to pick up online.  Like I said, there are funny but overall it's a pretty big mess.

Orson Welles would be a great Bond villian, but he wanted to do magic tricks instead.

Orson Welles. No one ever understood the guy. War of the Worlds, was he in Citzen Cane?, this movie, Transformers, such strange happenings with the guy.

It is interesting that you did not like this movie, because most of the actors in it were brilliant back then! David Niven in The Guns of Navarrone was splendid. Woody Allen has always been good even if he is not my cup of tea. Then there is Obi Wan kenobi who was always wonderful as well back then. Just all of them together turned into a big mess it seems.

Welles wrote, directed, and starred in Citizen Kane.

One of the reasons it's such a disaster is because so many great people are in it.  Peter Sellers is my favorite comic actor ever, Welles is great, and I'm a big Niven fan.  You should watch this as a movie fan just to see how it went wrong.  Who knows?  Maybe you'll like it.

Oh! No wonder. I was looking at him trying to figure out why he still looked youngish. Was he in Japan for Never Say Never Again as well? Have I not seen all the movies? I think I have, but it has been a while since the last three are not my favorites.

No, this is the one where he is in Japan.  Diamonds Are Forever is the one that place in Vegas for the most part.  Never Say Never Again is pretty much a remake of Thunderball and takes place in the Carribean.
