Not all drugs damage or destroy brain cells, Cannabis is one of them.

Alcohol does. True Story.

"The researchers actually administered 63 joints worth of marijuana in five minutes with no air in between.  The monkeys began to atrophy and die after 90 days.  It is not really big news that asphyxiation kills brain cells."

Myth: Pot Kills Brain Cells

Government experts now admit that pot doesn't kill brain cells.1 This myth came from a handful of animal experiments in which structural changes (not actual cell death, as is often alleged) were observed in brain cells of animals exposed to high doses of pot. Many critics still cite the notorious monkey studies of Dr. Robert G. Heath, which purported to find brain damage in three monkeys that had been heavily dosed with cannabis.2 This work was never replicated and has since been discredited by a pair of better controlled, much larger monkey studies, one by Dr. William Slikker of the National Center for Toxicological Research3 and the other by Charles Rebert and Gordon Pryor of SRI International.4 Neither found any evidence of physical alteration in the brains of monkeys exposed to daily doses of pot for up to a year. Human studies of heavy users in Jamaica and Costa Rica found no evidence of abnormalities in brain physiology.5 Even though there is no evidence that pot causes permanent brain damage, users should be aware that persistent deficits in short-term memory have been noted in chronic, heavy marijuana smokers after 6 to 12 weeks of abstinence.6 It is worth noting that other drugs, including alcohol, are known to cause brain damage.

The people that talk utter crap about marijuana are the least informed people.  These are the people that the government propaganda has reached and latched onto.  These are the people that are holding back any progress on marijuana reform.  These are the fools that believe anything the government tells them. Basically, the only real evidence you can point at is the reduction in short term memory.  However, after quitting that will easily come back.  My long term memory is actually better than my parents and family in certain cases.  Sure there are events they remember that I have sort of forgotten but there has been countless times where I bring up something that happened a few years-decades in the past where they have no recollection of anymore.

Just to clarify, this was a joke because of my middle eastern background. I am not at all offended by any of these Saudi Arabia, middle eastern women jokes. On the contrary, I find them rather amusing.

yeah it's the same with salt. most people believe salt isn't good but newest studies show it's bullshit. most people believed a study from the 60s or so when they gave a rat salt which would be projected to a human body like 1 pound salt per day loool. the newest meta study showed that this is bullshit.

and to the guy saying he's a "straight edge" and no alcohol for him as well. is there a reason for that? alcohol can be bad that's for sure but i see no reason why i shouldn't drink 2-3 glas per week. most people who don't drink say they don't need it to have fun and so on but most who say that (my brother and his wife for example) did never have many friends and didn't go to parties very often or didn't have so much fun there. sure there are exceptions but i really have the feeling that no alcohol can be bad for many as well.

a study from norway showed that people who never drink have more depressions than people who drink sometimes and i can totally understand this. at least here in germany beer is a part of our society and many who never drink exclude themselve with that behaviour. and i believe an american study showed something like that as well.

so it's great if you really have as much fun as other on a party or so but i know that i have more fun with a little bit alcohol. but sure, too much is even more bad than no alcohol.

I just blazed up my after-work, after-dinner joint and then thought oh man, wasn't there this thread I posted 'I'm NOT stoned' in!? Then I remembered,

Dr.Grass said:
I just woke up, but I'm still stoned from last night. Does that count?

And it hit me *WHAM* This is the BEST idea for a stoner thread on VG ever. From now on, whenever I'm stoned at home and on the pc, I'll just come document it here.

ENTRY 1.

So just blazed up. My plants are looking gooood. They are loving the heat. Pretty soon it will be autumn, and with that I'll not have to pay for ganja for a whole year...

EDIT: I hate making typos when stoned more than most things.
