Forums - Nintendo - 3DS keeps disconnecting online. DMZ issue? Lil' help, please?

Trying to keep the bad online rep going Nintendo I see.

In all seriousness I do have a Cisco router sitting in closet but it would probably cost almost as much as the unit is worth to ship it to you. I did ship some Sega Saturn games to Mike_Intellivision though! Cost me around 15 dollars to send him 4-5 games that I was never going to use (since the free Saturn I did have broke and I never bothered getting another). He even sent me 15 dollar check back to reimburse me the cost of the shipping even though I never even asked (I did tell him the cost of shipping it to him though once I did ship it).  He has a ton of Saturn games.  So many in fact that it errors out VGC and you can't even search for Saturn games in his collection.

Just buy a Vita. Never stop playing

As soon as I read this thread I knew there would be some smart ass answer like this

Someone had to do it...

Well, I thought it was funny.  And I am buying a Vita.  Maybe even this month.  The game I want most for it doesn't come out for a while (gravity rush) but I'll just use the time before that game hits to stack up on other stuff like a carrying case, memory card, etc.

Set your MTU value to 1500 in internet settings. Default is set to 1400. Worked wonders for me,

I thought the 3G didn't support actual online gaming and just internet browsing, etc...

Just got this:

It was the best they had, as far as I  can tell.  Hope it works!  Cost $70 at Wal-Mart.  Just Googled it for the image above and saw that a lot of places are selling it for $40.  Oh well.  Fuck it.  Here goes nothin'!

Yeah, I was just thinking $70 is a bit much for a WLAN router.

Anyway, get the thing working and then let's try it out.

Opening the box right now!

I hope you enjoy my Swapnote South Park job reference reply back...  Glad you got 30 dollars to burn.  I would have gone Amazon prob but since the internet gaming is such an important matter 30 dollars extra is a small price to pay.

Just posting to say thank you to you guys. Sometimes, you all impress the heck out of me. Seems like, no matter how small, obscure, or insignificant the problem is, you guys always come to the rescue. Thanks for the advice. it really worked.

$70 is the default price for a "good" router, at least in America. You can go under that, but then you get into cheap-o territory. Though my $30 Belkin once provided internet for me and my five coworkers at my internship for two and a half months. Go figure...

Belkin isn't too bad.  I have one of their plug in wireless USB connectors.  I don't use it anymore but it was cheaper than the Cisco branded one and it works pretty much the same.  I even damaged it when I had it plugged in the front of a PC (I lifted the PC tilted forward forgetting that I had it on the bottom USB port).  I was able to bend it back into place.  Basically, I was at a store on the phone my friend telling him the prices.  I really wanted to go with the more expensive one thinking it would be better but he convinced me to save my money and go with the Belkin since he had one that worked good.
