1. The game wasn't terrible. In fact I actually kind prefer it over XIII-2. Why? 13 was linear and you alwasy knew where to go. XIII-2 has a lot more freedom and you can get lost and you even get to fight high-level monster at low levels when you have no chance of beating them. I prefer the straight to the point linear 13 honestly. 2. Whiny crybaby voice acting? You're exagerrating. If you really hate the voice acting that much, mute it and put on subtitles. Most jRPGs are cheesy and cringeworthy. If you were a jRPG fan, you'd know this by now. 3. If all you do is that you'll never beat XIII.(did you even beat it?) You also have to do paradigm shifts and choose which characters to put in your party. There's a decent amount of strategy there and way more in XIII-2 with the monster system. |
#1.) So because you think it was good it means I am wrong? Why can't it be that you are wrong since I thought it was bad? Nothing you say changes the fact that I think the battle system is terrible. Maybe if it had a "Wait" option rather than always being not just "Active", but ridiculously fast.
#2.) Mute it? So because the voice acting and dialogue is terrible I should mute not just the voices, but also the music and sound? Why not tell S-E to add the option to just mute voices and voices only? By the way, most of them are not as cheesy as FFXIII. FFXIII was over the top ridiculous, it seriously had whining left and right, not to mention these characters couldn't even talk to each other, they were always crying or yelling at each other. One moment Lightning is whining, next she is telling us her sad life story, next thing you know Snow and Hope are in a screaming match. It was drama, drama, drama. Someone needs to man up. They were all forgettable characters as well.
As for "If I were a JRPG fan", check my gaming library, I have probably been playing JRPGs since before you were born. It's my genre of choice by a LARGE margin.
#3.) My PSN username is the same as my VGChartz username. I beat FFXIII a week or so after it released and I know how the battle system works. Don't believe me, then go check it.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
