Can we just get it over with, and remove Hus for his constant personal attacks?

And you really thinks tha the Wii is a console optimized ONLY for gaming?

 of course!!!

wii like ds is desiged for expandibility.

but is optimized for game.

ps3 is an All-in-one product.

it' is designed and optimized for media playing AND gaming AND chat AND internet browsing etc...

that's the reason for 600$...

wii is optimized only for gaming, but nintendo designed it to extra accessories services as movie playback etc.

still I prefer to have each product optimized for one specif task rather than all'in-one entertainment product...

a simple example:

psp is designed from the scratch for internet browsing.

this means more ram ...

you paid this...even if you will never use it.

if you really need to use a ds for internet browsing then you have the choose to buy or not opera for ds...

it's something possible but extra.

instead with psp you have already paid for something that maybe you'll never use!!!

maybe this clarify the fondamental difference between the two approaches

I think every gamer should be happy if all consoles wins, that is going to make tha market bigger, if that happens = better games.

I love my 360 but the other 2 are good to, I already own the wii and as soon as more games for the PS3 are out thare I'll buy it.

all right...

but still the golden rule:

market can't afford 3 console makers

people like you maybe can afford to buy 3 console.

(and like you admit you didn't buy ps3 and wii at the same time)

but can you afford to stay update with all 3 lineups each month???

if you answer "yes" you're rich...

majority of people not...

so that's the reason ...

even owning the 3 console people in the end they support software lineups of one or 2...but rarely can afford to stay updated with games lineups of each console...

it's not a matter of hardware but software one.

When you say... market can't afford 3 console makers, you almost convinced me, but with nintendo adding new costumers, is like saying that there is no market for 30 or 40 different tv manufacturers, if it is true that every one is going to have a Wii at their house, then the Wii is another kind of market, and the PS3 and the 360 are on a niche market. The console market has grown what 500% in the last 20 years, and back the there where more than 2 consoles, atari, intelevision, C64 (not a console but every one use it like that),  so why 20 years later with 100's of millons of people buying gamming consoles there is no market for 3. I agree with you is a matter of software not hardware, if there are 150 millons consoles out there and assume that each one will buy 1 game per year, (a lot more I think), the first place will sell 70 M games, 2nd 50M, 3rd 30M, that is enough, for surviving. What do you think?

gamecube still made profit and made respectable sales.

PS3 is behind where Sega Saturn was at this poin in it's life and will NEVER catch up to where Dreamcast was.

Seriously PS3 is no gamecube it's an Atari jaguar.

yep failure souldn't be judged on who came were. But on if they lost money. If they all profited then they all successed if they all lost money overall then they all fail in my book.

Its because of last Gen. All the media outlets were calling the GameCube a failure since it was in 3rd place, yet they called the Xbox a success even thou there was a small difference between the two. I don't know really who to blame for all this 1st, 2nd, 3rd crap. But it all really seemed to have come from the marketing team behind the Playstaion. They made a big stink out of how well they did with the PSOne and then the same with the PS2. And I wouldn't put it pass them since they were the same people who started the whole "Nintendo is kiddy" BS. We never had to deal with 1st, 2nd or 3rd back during the NES/Master System era or even the SNES/Gen era. Sure their was competition between the systems but no one was making a huge deal out of being #1 and we weren't screaming that one system was a failure because it wasn't out selling the other.

If a company goes from dominating 1st place one gen to last place, while losing money all the way then that is a failure...

I would say any product that is sold at a loss is a failure if at some point it doesn't start to make a profit. A company can't have much faith in it's product or think it is worth the price if it can only sell it at a lower price than it costs to produce it! Supermarkets of course do this all the time with everyday products like bread and milk etc but of course they have 1000s of other products to make a profit on. With a console it must be a lot riskier.
