Forums - Gaming - Rayman Origins is actually profitable for Ubisoft

With over a million sales in two or three months without the handheld versions, I'd hope so.

The game is already cheap to buy at a lot of places though. (play, amazon and GAME all have it for under 20 pounds)

I got it for 18 pounds "new" last month.

Doesn't take away from the fact that it's an excellent platformer though (and your getting a bargain at the above prices)

Oh man I loved Origins. It deserves far higher sales personally I am starting to be embarrassed with modern day gamers. An industry where Raving Rabbis outsells Rayman an industry where Deus Ex looses out to CoD:MW3 for having the best story in gaming.

Newer generations of gamers seem to be clueless as to a high quality title. When people call themselves gamers but play Farm ville all day or only own a single game for their 360 Call Of Duty. Sorry liking one game or a few interactive experiences on Facebook or your phone does not suddenly make you a gamer.

"In God We Trust - In Games We Play " - Joel Reimer

I bought it used for $30 over a week ago. This week, it's new and $19 at the same store (Gamestop).

It feels more like the kind of game that should be on a portable, but the couch co-op on the 360/PS3 is too good to pass up. And when it runs at a smooth 60fps you've got no complaints from me. Glad to see it turned a profit.

It's cheap also in the states I was able to get it for 30$ with an artbook in late decemeber. A word of warning to those who play with a friend you will be yelling at each other endlessly when you hit the later stages when it becomes hell(the best kind of hell) and you will restart it over and over and over and over again...me and my friend learned the hard way in the final secert level were we died on one area about 70 times..

Former something....

i can't quote at work..........

@ Blacksaber

I haven't even tried co-op yet, but if the single player is anything to go by then i know exactly what you mean......... in places this game requires lots of split second timing to weave your way past the moving obstacles, and don't get me started on how precise you have to be when it comes to jumping from one area to another.

i'm dreading co-op personally, but the achievement whore in me means i'll give it a darn good shot.

oh, and congrats on making it to the end saber (i still have a fair way to go)

Co-op is great. If you leave your friend behind, they'll die. It's been a while since I played Mario Bros. Wii but I think we were all stuck together. Also, you don't bounce on your partner's head when you jump at the same time. You only interact with them if you purposely punch them or lift them over your head. Again, like NSBW, messing up will put you inside of a bubble and your partner has to get you out. That really helped because I'd go into a hazardous area while my partner stayed someplace safe. If I messed up, they'd pop the bubble and I'd try it again. It's an all around great game. I should try to play it online.

must just be me but i got this game cuz all the good reviews and comments from users here..played the game and was like wtf this is boring as fuck....and i am a huge platformer lover
