Forums - Gaming - Android phones now can carry the chrome browser!

Chrome is now available for android as a downloadable app, as a replacement for the stock browser that android comes with. Google hasn't said when it will offer chrome as the default browser, but one expects that this is coming. What this means for google is that it will increase the likelihood that users will have chrome as their main browser, giving google a bigger piece of the browser pie. Chrome also uses google as the default home page, so it will direct more traffic to.google"s core business, and help chrome to topple IE at a faster rate than is a Ready occurring.

In order for people to take your thread seriously, you should mention Chrome is only for Android 4.0 ICS devices and keep your personal spin about chrome toppling IE out of it ... Just an advice.

Absolutely, but ICS is the OS version that future android phones will have, so this can't be a huge complaint from you.

ICS is absolutely the future...but some kid out there is going to read your OP and is going to wonder why he can't get Android for his Gingerbread device.

Making factually accurate and informative threads is important when posting news like this.

I for one would love to give Chrome a go on my Motorola Milestone, if only to see how the tabs and bookmarks sync with my desktop...but no ICS will be available for my device. :)

You got me all excited then I realized how outdated my stupid Xperia 10 is... I'm sad now :(

I was so happy until I found out my Gingerbread can't run it. I'll just stick with Dolphin for now and hope Firefox gets faster.

Chrome's dominance of IE looks more likely in the future now

Chrome is a very good browser, I'm happy Google finally brought a first party browser (Chrome) to the Android OS. Sadly, I would rather get the iPhone. If Chrome ever came to Apple's App Store (yeah right...) I would snatch it right up.

By the Gods! I wish I had a smart phone or a phone in general =l
