OT - as much as i'd absolutely love to see games look like the samaritan demo... i'm probaby 1 of only ~5000 people that can say that. MSony better be careful about not pushing things too far...

orly? oh well, i haven't been banned in a surprisingly long time (for me) actually so i should be gone for more than a week or so.
Forget what I said in the OP about next gen consoles. I got a little ahead of myself.
Also, lol at 12x - 16x jump next gen. Some of you people have completely unrealistic expectations.

It seemed smoother because it had great animations, that's one of the many reasons why you shouldn't trust tech demos, animations can only be done manually, you'll never see animations as good as those on an actual game (except for cutscenes), it would be too expansive. |
The quality of the animation can't hide 30fps.

I expect 12-16 times for the PS4, which would make it about twice as powerful as the Wii U. |
There's a slim chance the PS4 GPU will be 16 times faster than the X360 but that'll only happen if PS4 releases in Nov 2014. I truly hope!
12 times the X360 is not twice the Wii U though. It would be four times faster than the Wii U since the Wii U is rumoured to be only 3 times faster than the X360. And you know what that means? It means that the Wii U might miss a lot of next gen's multiplatforms.

You know what a 12x jump means? A huge, hot console that costs a lot!
You know how much power it takes to run Samaritan at 720p? 4.4 x 360 power!
You know what that means? If Wii U is 3x -5x 360 it can get next gen ports.
What are you even basing this 12x to 16x jump on ? Nothing realistic, that's what.

wasn't the ps2 to ps3 about a 12x jump? considering this gen is going to last longer then the last one a jump as big as the ps2 to 3 doesn't seem unreasonable to me. so if not 12x was was the previous jump cause that's the number i'd approximently expect.

Most rumors I've heard put the Wii U at the 5-6 times 360 range. But it's kind of irrelevant, isn't it?
If the PS4 is the outlier here, and launches two years after, it's not going to be the Wii U that suffers for it.

I said the chance for a 16x increase for the PS4 over the X360 was slim (likely not going to happen) but if it did I assume it would be based on next year's Radeon chip, the 8000-series.
Now what we do know is that MS is basing its Nextbox GPU on the Radeon 7970 which is 10 times faster than the Radeon X1900 which the X360 was based on.
So if Sony with the PS4 would wait an extra year compared to MS they could base their GPU on a one year fresher Radeon GPU generation which if lucky could be 60% faster than the Radeon 7000-series.
