Forums - Sales - Did the Wii ever outsell the Xbox 360 despite being more expensive?

The remodeled Xbox 360 S came out at E3 in June of 2010, that also really boosted sales.

The new 250Gig Xbox 360 S was the same price as the old 120Gig Elite model, but has advantages including built in WiFi N, optical audio out, is smaller, quieter and cooler. Plus more USB connections and a built in Kinect port.

So they didn't lower price, but increase the value. The 4 gig Xbox 360 S version came out a few months later for $199.00 as the lower priced model.

PS Good thread, I had forgotten the lowest price X360, was more than the Wii for a time.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

No, if my memory is correct. The Wii was priced at $200, the same as the low end Xbox360 and still sold more consoles at one point of time. It wasn't till the Xbox360 newer hardware is when it started to outsell the Wii. Do not quote me on this.

the main reason it sold is the controller with games that actually make good use of it

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
