WiiSports - A definiing expierience for the Wii. An unparalled system seller.
WiiPlay - About to pass 4 million in the US alone. Surely this combo pack will inspire some new marketing techniques for moving games and accessories.
Galaxy - Storming past 4 million in under 2 months, will it catch Halo 3 or previous Mario entries?
Zelda - A strong holiday resurgance has pushed Zelda back up the charts where it will likely stay as long a the Wiis keep moving.
Mario Party - The only thing that will stop the maddness is Mario Party 9. The sucess of this along with Mario and & Sonic and Warioware speak to the Wii userbase desire to have more games make use of motion controls (not just a penchant for party games).
After 14 months we have 5 games reaching this mighty goal. How many will there be by next January. I think Mario & Sonic will, along with WiiFit, SSBB, and Mario Kart. Putting the total up to 9.
As for other titles already out that will eventually get there in the Wii's lifetime. I say Warioware and Super Paper Mario. I also put a real outside shot on Big Brain Academy (When it drops to $20-$30 it could sell forever a la Brain Age on DS) and Resident Evil 4. Not to mention the tons of amazing unannouced games
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
