But do you guys still remember that SONY used to said they are a bit of ahead to reach their projection sales in their holiday sales PR? Now SONY even lowered their projection from 15M to 14M. Why does nobody say here SONY was lying to the industry?

According to both FY report, MS won in every category. Why is it so difficult to accept this truth?

I remember a couple year back the situation was in reverse, Sony shipped more but MS sold more back then the table were turned people who are now saying ship is what that matters were saying back then that sold to customer was the the more important thing and vice versa.



Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Because that's what this site is about - sold through numbers. The whole "who won 2011" discussion was about sold through as well. So we still have no clue who actually won and we probably never will.

 

Seems even in defeat the main spin is "but teh sell through rate". Well never get an idea until mid april so until then, lets all accept that MS won, unless theres an underlying PS3 bias that refuses to give up lol.

 

But seriously MS won in every category: company wide profits, gaming division profits, more shipped, more shipped in calendar year, YOY growth.

Despite Microsoft winning "in every category," somehow it doesn't deter my enjoyment of the Atelier series.  And let's not forget that it was both PS3 and Xbox 360 fanboys who were arguing over the "sold to customer" and it being more important than "sold to retailer" which is more important by the way.  Please stop being so biased over this.  It's sound reasoning which refuses to "give up."


Good thing were dealing in corporate victories...which offcourse did not deter my enjoyment of Gears 3. We all can speculate on sold through but fact is the shipped, and in corporate terms that is the most important. 



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

They were plenty of Sony fans pulling the shipped only matters card last year and the year before...so yeah, it goes both ways.

Actually, you're avoiding the real issue which has been clarified over and over.  You yourself said:

"...its on most of our minds."

...in you original post.  What is NOT on our minds are shipped sales but sold through.  Again, that is what is on our minds as it has also been clarified again and agin that we all pretty much agreed to this before the creation of your thread.  So DeduS is only reiterating a valid point while you make the biased false claim that it's only PS3 fanboys who are still arguing over it.

"...its on most of our minds." refered to the 360/PS3 rivarly. 

I always use shipped figures. Since that is fact and sold through cant be proved exactly. Why don't people accuse Sony of overshipping PS3s this year to avoid being really beaten by MS? Just throwing it out there that MS can overship but Sony is such an angel of a corporation that the very thought would make its most loyal fans heads explode.
