The financial times is reporting that Game has been given a lifeline from it's banks.. Part of the deal seems to involve selling some of it's international stores. The company really needs to become competitive again and reduce it's store portfolio

Can't really say I'am surprised they're extremely expensive and don't really stock anything other than mainstream games, just hope Game station isn't dragged down with them.
My copy of FFXIII-2 only got despatched from Gamestation (owned by GAME) this morning, other people have been having trouble with despatch times and customer service too.
As for there being too many Gamestation / GAME stores, I only know of two and they are a 20 minute drive away, could I borrow some of your stores you guys.

They'res two Games and a Gamestation in my town center all literally within a stone throw of each other, they used to be 3 game stores but they merged 2 of them last year.

Not a single game store in my town, it's not a big town but it's reasonably sized, 30,000 population.
...Sucks.

Wow from what you guys are saying Game has way to many outlets far too condensed. In my city we have two Ebgames but we are a city of 200,000 and we have one in dependant store. I could see some cities having multiple Game stores but two feet from one another. Our three retailers are spread out by a few kilometers. One Ebgames in the city center in the big mall and the other on the far end of town.
I would say Game sounds like it needs to reduce its over head drastically. Close any unnecessary stores and then expand into any region where their is demand. You know many retailers are coming to Canada our country was not that hard hit by the economic crisis. Game could probably cross over we only have EBGames/GameStop if Game came across they might be able to make some money.
Many struggling companies are expanding internationally maybe Game could spread further into healthier regions of Europe.
They should be able to cut losses by this winter. But if they can't get new product they are screwed they need new product. Does Game have an online store like EB does here? They need to adapt to the changing market.

Over here in Australia, Game shits on EbGames/Gamestop, and then JB Hi Fi shits on both. And then well the internet proceeds to poop all over all three of them with its low import prices.
But seriously Game.com.au has some pretty nice daily deals over here, it's a shame its in trouble overseas.
wait what , what kind of gamestore is this that does not sell new releases may as well rename them a pawn shop or thrift store cause thats exactly what they do lol -sell only used stuff . (if your lucky the previous owner didnt open it) lol
