Forums - Gaming - Update: THQ confirms layoffs of 240 employees across nine months

Thing about U Draw- I never knew anything about it until after it failed. Even now, I only know that it failed. I still don't know what it's about. If they had advertised or put some trailers on XBL/PSN, maybe somebody would have bought it.

THQ has confirmed planned layoffs of "up to 240 selling, general and administrative personnel worldwide," set to take place between now and September 30, 2012. The company promises that the "majority" of said layoffs will occur before March 31, 2012 as to incur as little financial hardship as possible before the end of its fiscal fourth quarter.

The 240 number is a marked increase from numbers we heard earlier today, making the situation at THQ look all the more dire. Though the company makes note of the recently announced restructuring away from kids and licensed titles, nothing is mentioned of the rumored cancelation of the Warhammer 40K MMO. We expect to hear even more when THQ announces its fiscal third quarter results tomorrow afternoon.

Yet those execs that ran the company into the ground and making over a million a year are still there ruining the company. Maybe the shareholders should start getting people up top fired first.
