I bought Batman: Arkham City through Steam, and for my surprise I had to make a Gamer For Windows Live Account in order to SAVE PROGRESS. Am I the only one to thinks its just, unencessary?

I usually like single player for most of the games I get, so those kind of b******t makes me angry.

Yea, I was forced to make one for GTA4 on Steam and I was pissed. I was like why the fuck do I need this bs windows live account for single player...

Haha, seriously. If I'd bought a disc based game and had to make an account to play it I would probably just take it back and get a refund.

Unfortunately online you don't get that option, but I would be seriously pissed.

My laptop can't handle any modern games since this kind of bullshit started, hopefully when I get an upgrade and start buying games from the last few years this stuff will have blown over or there will be a way around it... If not I will just have to check games before I buy them, and I sure as hell won't be buying any that force me to make an account.

Hell it even annoys me when Steam has to sync the damn game after I play it so I have to wait like a minute to shut down. Dunno what it is actually synching but the only aspect I am interested in is my play-time, and I'm pretty sure that could be recorded offline if Steam wanted to do it that way (though my play-times still get screwed up when the games crash)

Just to confirm, this is just to be able to start playing single player? I mean on the Steam store it only mentions you need an account for online stuff.

Yeah, GWFL makes GTA4 lag like crap and it's like, I shouldn't have to run the game on medium settings with my rig. I shouldn't have to be signed into Live to play the damn game. And it shouldn't even be there since I bought the game on Steam....Steam community should be enough.
