instead of focusing on 1 time-line, why not expand it into at least 3 different time-lines with different main characters and give us the choose on, which character we want to play as.
Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

Grand theft auto requires automobiles, I have major gaps in history, so not sure if they had invented Fiat's and such in 1600s Italy
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

So far we have Brotherhood and Revelations before AC3. Could this become the Ubisoft's KH3 and release a lot of spin-offs before the main release?
At least AC is multiplatform.

I thought that Brotherhood was a fantastic sequel to II; the inclusion of the Assassins that you can recruit was awesome (and I loved the Cristina side story), but the tower defense game thing in Revelations is supposedly rather awful and hard to win. I'll get it anyway, but it'll have to wait. As for ACIII being the biggest game yet; I'm totally fine with that as long as the quality doesn't suffer. I personally don't mind yearly releases for games as long as they continue being awesome, which the AC games have done so far imho. |
So you have a heads up, Revelations does not continue the trend. It has all the hallmakrs of having been intended for a poratable and then switched over to the consoles (remember it was originally annouced as Lost legacy for the 3DS). Its by far the worst AC so far and has really taken the steam out of the franchise's sails. Ubisoft need to do something special both development and amrketing wise to regain former momentum.
Brotherhood was good but it's time for a new protagonist/hero, a new timeline and setting. Paris or London during the Napoleonic Wars? Vienna for the Austrian Succession or China's Boxer Rebellion? Ubi's options seem endless but they need a carefully documented crises in a city they can faithfully recreate. I'll continue buying the IP late when prices drop but SecondWar's comments on Revelations are disturbing. If they're not careful ACII will remain the high water mark.

After Revelations, which was really two step back for the franchise, they better make this good, and it better be more than one city again.
I didn't bother with Revelations because it didn't seem that good but I do hope AC3 can get back on track. I'm hoping for Egypt or Japan for the next setting.
Exited to see here the next one will be set. Assassin's Creed always has some great introductory trailers. So looking forward to it.
Bitter sweet news given that Ubisoft has basically milked the same game over and over again.
Hope they do something unique with the next release.
