Thanks man. I've put a link to this thread in my signature to remind people of the greatness that was once Rare :)

One question though. About that lesson you learnt, are you saying Chris is losing his talent? Because I think that all he need is motivation to get back up on his feet. He watched Rare going slowly to the grave and eventually (spring last year to be precise) even got fired from the company (he didn't resign as the article says). I mean, after all, he's still got all these crazy ideas for a hypothetical sequel. All he need is some tools to work with, aka, a studio.

That and money is exactly what I meant. So yes to that, and no, I don't think he lost his talent, it's we that lost his and the enjoyment we found therein. Rather, I think he has probably more talent, and more cynicism and humour to share than ever before, and is more free-minded than ever.

A sour layoff is a life-changing experience, it should only make him stronger and more interesting. Hope we can enjoy him once again.

Amen to that. Glad we're on the same page :)

Well, I'm not a fan of the old rare so I don't care too much. I do wish they'd use some of the steller IP they have though, they're more than comptant at making games in their current form (VP was awesome)

It's clear you've never played Conker's Bad Fur Day :P

You're missing out man.

If I'm not mistaken, you haven't played their older games, so how could you be a fan? Their games were awesome and though I've never played VP, from what I gather their old games had much more warmth than their more modern offerings. I did play Kameo on the 360 and I didn't like it. It felt incomplete. Time would have made them improve that, but as he says in the interview schedule comes first.

What I'm telling you is not magic, Chris explained why in the interview... it's because artistic liberty is cut short there due to modern business constraints. He seems to like Nintendo's approach better, and explains that in detail. Mind you I have my doubts even Nintendo will continue this fine practice, as they need to be absolutely competitive as time passes, but for now he seems still enamoured with Nintendo, so he must be happy with their current ways.

But hey, if you like Rare's current offerings, all the power to you. But the point is they don't have the soul they once had which made Rare what it became, before things went corporate.

But in your favor at least the studio is still good, it's just not great anymore.

That's a great read. I miss the old Rare, they made the 90's great.

You're right I havn't, hence why I'm not a fan. Hence why I don't care.

All I care about is what they're going to bring to the table in the future. If it's Kinect Sports 3,4,5,6 ect that'd suck, If they bring some of their more established IP's out though I'll be happy, (as long as they don't butcher them like Nuts and Bolts)

Viva Pinata was enough for me to know they're good at making fun controller games.

Nntendo fans have some sort of problem with anyone liking Rare these days. You're not getting the IP, the old days back, or old rare staf joining Retro en mass, so just get over it already.

If you don't care, what's the point of posting in a Chris Seavor thread? The point of this thread is to recollect his excellent work and appreciate his words, which clearly say he is unhappy with the current Rare.

Yet you come and say you don't care. Nice...

Well, I for one am glad you're enjoying their current work.

As for the Retro part, I'm pretty certain I said that I hoped for it to happen *checks* yep, hoped. I never said it was a realistic expectation.

And you, sir, are generalizing way to much about Nintendo fans.

@bold. It was delusional. Check the before last sentence of my original reply to him. Noone in this thread said anything bad about anyone liking the current Rare. On the contrary...

Happydolphin, case in point. It's a rare thread, it's not off topic to come in here and talk about Rare, get over it.

I've also seen enough from ninty fans talking about Rare to know they loath how they are today (should be irrelevent to them)
