Forums - PC - Which Wi-Fi router to buy?

So i am upgrading my router

Currently own a Netgear 100mbps Ethenet and 150mbps Wi-Fi N router.

it cost only around $50.

Its good but i have problem movie media files around the house with my PS3,PC,Laptop,Phone,Set top Box recordings. They are 1080p videos.

I am re shifting everything and my PS3 and PC will be connected to Gigabit ethernet on the new router but i still need wi-fi for other things.I also have bluetooth Keyboard,Mouse and Headphone which i don't want the router to interfere.

Which router do you guys use and whats the range?

Around the Network

What are you transferring the files from/to specifically?

Increasing the speed of your router will be meaningless if the wi-fi for each individual device caps at 54mbps or something. The transfer will only be as fast as the weakest link.

But I recently purchased the Netgear N600 dual-band router, which has dual 300mbps bands. It's great.

You should be able to find dual bands for the same price easily.

I have a Linksys E1200. Not the greatest but it get's the job done. Personally, I'd recommend the Netgear N600 like makingmusic has.
