Well, I always thought Zelda was always equally a symbol with link and gannon since the series is in fact called the legend of zelda.
I disagree with making Link a girl. That's just dumb. That's like, bioware making everyone bisexual (hmm). He is in fact an icon, as a man. or elf boy whatever. Though, a zelda game where you get to play as gannon would be neat too!
