YOU %$%$%# !

.......I was expecting it to be REAL but nonetheless I knew someone was going to use a false attention grabbing headline.

What a trolling title.

We already know what the online system will be like from dev comments, same as Wii and 3DS, each game needs create it own system, is on the devs shoulders.

It is true that that is precisely what we could end up with based on the information given, as nominally Nintendo already "partners" with EA in regards to EA online-enabled games getting their own support, and with third parties always having the option of going it alone.

Though i doubt what we'll get on Wii U will be any worse than what exists on 3DS

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yea, I'll make sure to never have that EA crap on my Wii-U. If it comes pre-installed I will delete it.

I like the presentation.
A window showing some of what is offered in the Wii U Shop is a good idea. With a menu on the side to the main menus, a search option and that would be it for me.

Doesn't Steam compete with the consoles??

"Don't let this be true?" LOL, so people want to keep using a crappy service?? Yeah the EA thing doesnt look great, but it has to be better than what is available now. Hulu and Netflix is a given, Origin maybe. Steam, doubt it. Im just happy not to deal with silly friend codes, one step at a time and it looks like the right step.

I rather use the Wii's service than have third parties (especially EA) take over the direction of Nintendo's platform.

Reggie:

" Our approach [to online] will be a flexible one, literally taking the best of what each of our third party partners has to offer, marrying that with the best of what Nintendo does, and bringing that versus a more rigid, a more closed type of environment."

Nintendo say they want the system to give freedom to 3rd parties, not give them total control.

You have nothing to fear...except, you know,  your inevitable fall next gen like I  promised. *Grins*

How about getting third party software before we go into a third party freedom on a online service...

thats all part of the support. look at it this way, if the online is not a pain in the ass. It could actually get some decent DL games that the HDs and PC were getting. Limbo, Braid, Outland, Scott Pilgrim, Mvs.C2, SF3online, SonicCD, Castlevania, etc. etc.

No....I dont mean virtual console support, I meant actual game releases side by side with Sony/MS consoles lol.

??? Outside of Mvs.C2, SF3online and Sonic all the games i mentioned were ORIGINAL games in their respective series. Im not worried about support and neither should you. Aliens, Darksiders and Ninja Gaiden are confirmed and they are about as far as anything released on Wii as you can probably get. Wii U might have to play catch up, but at least it will be getting GC and 64 level support and probably more.

I know they were original games, but some of them are ports, I meant released at the same time as their HD cousins. Either ways do you mean those 3 games you mentioned on the Wii or Wii-U? o.O

I dont see why they would not come out the same time, since the Wii U will be much closer spec and hardware wise to the PS360. They'll just port between the three, just like last PS2/GC/Xbox. THe games i mentioned im talking actually AA-AAA content, nothing like those really existed on the WIi IMHO. Of course they will have some late games. Obviously Aliens will not release same time as the HDs, because WIi U wont even be out yet

Am i the only one, not thrilled about this. It sounds like that Ninty is going to let them run amok online wise. And while that is good for them and maybe third parties. I dont like the idea of having to have different accounts for different devs. I wanna play BF, gotta have an EA account. MGS Konami one. SF Capcom, so on and so on. THat still sounds like it wont be as good as the PSN/Live/Steam set up
