Mr Khan said: Kind of want to start YuruYuri, but i fell back into One Piece, which even where i stand i need 50 more episodes to the point where i'll have seen every episode in Japanese Ongoing uncertainty about my employment complicates things. I'd rather not start something I can't finish. |
One piece doesnt seem like it wont be ending anytime soon.
I'm like 8 episodes off before completely catching up to the latest episode.
I'm thinking about starting another long term anime series, thinking about Bleach since it "ended" but I also Naruto which I originally stopped after episode 100 on the original version ;x.
Thinking about Fairy Tail because it was also cancelled. Maybe I should watch Gintama.

No, you see. I'm caught up to One Piece. Originally, i watched it in English (yes, the horrible 4Kids dub) back in the middle of the last decade. Around 2007 the Funimation dub took over on Toonami, but then One Piece was canceled off of Toonami after episode 165, in the Skypiea Arc.
I started streaming episodes in my Freshman year of college (2008, only about half a year after the Funi dub was canceled), starting from 166. I "caught up" to the Japanese broadcasts in November 2010 about 300 episodes later.
However, there were the episodes i'd watched in the butchered 4Kids dub, and even the Funi dub is still toned down in some sectors. So I *also* started from episode 1, usually as a treat around final exam time in my first 5 semesters, and got up through the end of Drum Island. Recently (before i got fired from my last job) i picked it up again because i was unsure of when they would increase my hours and cut me off from a chance of watching anime. So now i'm at episode 115, with 51 to go before i've come full-circle at last.
Fairy Tail is pretty good if you don't stress the plot too much, and just soak in the action and the lovable characters. Helps if you enjoy a bit of fanservice, too.
