Yeah, well... no. It's an awful story with two of the worst female characters I have seen. I'd be hard pressed to find someone more irritating and annoying than Yozora or Sena, and the fact the plot is revolving around them for a good deal of time isn't making things any better. Most of the time the series is lacking any form of plot or at least its progress, presenting episodes whose only purpose is to further the main traits/stereotypes of each of the characters instead.
I can't say the series has no worthwhile elements - Kodaka with his fear of attachments and Rika who saw through him are the only reason why I'm sticking with the novel, despite all my hate towards the two main females. It's not enough for me to call it even remotely good, though.
As for continuation - the anime adapted all of the novels up to and including eighth, while nine is not released yet.

Agreed to most points... well, I do think niku is fun to watch, but I still think she is dislikable...

Do you need to play the first game to follow the story?

My anime consumption is way down. I'm able to watch some during down time at work, but oddly can't seem to watch it at home. Get distracted too easily.

humm... some years ago there was a tendency to make anime based on the Sengoku wars... last year there were a lot of Imouto based anime.. and this year already are 3 Dragon Quest inspired animes with heroes and Darklords...

What the hell? What is Next?!
