OK, XBOX360 shipped 8.2M. So total LTD till 31th of December, 2011 is 65.8M. If SONY can ship more than 7.3M PS3 in last quarter, SONY will be deserve to claim the victory of 2011.

And from my point of view, it is very likely SONY wins 2011.

all consoles did very well! for some reason here on the boards, its always ps3 vs xbox 360 but we should lay the argument to rest until the end of 2012 as we now know the ps3 was the top selling console in 2011.

its all that ballmer guys fault. if he didnt come out with " we're the hardware leader for 2011" statement, the forums would not have went crazy these past few weeks.

MS have declared 65.8 shipped - it's official.  Ballmer either rounded up a bit or simply included (probably simply by error) some early Jan shippments.

I doubt there will be meltdowns much at this point.  They'll come if PS3 shippments put it ahead for the year overall.  Either way both consoles sold very, very well worldwide I'd say.

so does anyone think sony can hit 7.5 million and outship microsoft? i think anywhere between 7 and 7.5
