For sure, but there's a need for some balance. Otherwise, they'll all end up like Activision...

Yeah, I'm fine playing mediocre slingshot simulators (angry birds) and throwing balled up paper into baskets. Make a new post when phones can do what 3ds and vita can. |
A lot of people are though, even gamers. (Unfortunately)
And when will some people learn, certain franchises don't sell on certain platforms. COD will do much better on VIta, and it won't be because of grpahis, that target audience just wouldn't buy Nintendo hardware in numbers near Sony/MS

Making huge amounts of money out of COD games? Who wouldn’t want that

And for sure, one day, games will be a lot better on phones. This guy is completely right when he says that 3ds proved that there is a market for handhelds still. Sure, a lot of people are satisfied with angry birds. But a lot of people bought 3ds's too. Not as many, yet, but soon.
Hey man, and I'm not knocking angry birds. I have a bionic. I like their casual games. But I'm not satisfied with that being the only gaming I do. As long as people like me are around, there will be a market.

So stifling innovation and creativity is okay as long as you make money?
People who think like that are tools and don't deserve any respect.

CoD = Angry Birds?
mmmmmm no.
Look, I hate CoD. It's casual garbage with a shitty online environment of teenagers and trolls.
But angry birds is still not even close.
CoD is not innovative.

Don't care if you're knocking angry birds, it's shit, Rocket Riot and Cut the Rope are far superior!
He's right there is an audience for dedicated handhelds, but the effort both Sony and Nintendo need to put in this time around is a heck of a lot more than last gen. I can't see Sony in the same position as Nintendo, they really can't afford to cut, although hopefully they still will, but more importantly they don't have Mario, Pokemon ect ...
Vita has a lot of SW that could be big, but save for the enevitable GTA down the line, I'm surprised Sony arnt cowering behind closed doors.
I do hope they find their mega hits that give you a reason to own a Sony handheld though.

I'm just saying that CoD on DS holds the same problems as CoD on 3DS. Vita on the other hand is specifically designed to play console games.
