short term memory is short......

Right. Nintendo has actually announced Zelda games at CES before. Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks both emerged there, as did the Wii DLC model.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Second glimpse of Wii-U at CES.

No, you're missing my point.

At E3, that demo and overall presentation was 'meh' as that is a gaming show; people wanted to play the games. CES is an electronics show with people who just look at electronics and are perfectly fine with on screen demo only type of presentation, as most of those new products there do just that. WiiU is well received with such a limited demo at CES.

My point is, they are showing what will impress people at that conference (CES). It was a perfect fit.

They don't need a 'new' demo/presentation until the next gaming conference they attend.

I agree that games should be announced at E3. Yes CES is an electronic show, but nintendo could atleast announce what the final specs of the WiiU are, give us a little nugget about theyr online or about all these rumors about E.reader/app store. These are things that I think would be perfect for CES, neverless I wasnt expecting them to announce those kind of stuffs but I was atleast hoping. Now im disapointed :( after 7months the lack of new information is getting unbearable >.<

why? The audience at CES doesn't care. They are not "gamers". They are people who care more about the latest TVs and phones than consoles. CES is the mass consumer, the one who sees Kinect XXXy or originally saw Wii Sports and didn't care it was $250 or could play other games, just wanted to play that sports game or that Just Dance. CES doesn't care if WiiU is a quad-core beast or if its running on squirrels. Showing a demo of the tablet with a good looking Zelda game is more than acceptable to that crowd and it will drive positive buzz from them.

However, at the upcoming gamescon or E3, Nintendo will need to step up and show amazing games that really push the points of its improved power and tablet based controller. That crowd, the gamers, will accept nothing less.

honestly i get all of that, but from a business stand point, dont waste time and money on being there, renting space, paying staff, etc.

CES is not a gaming show, your demo is old and dated to the audience that does care, just skip CES. Nintendo never did CES before, they finally do yet show old stuff. CES should not involve nintendo, sony and microsoft already have reason to be there so thats different.

maybe its to just get everyone that is there or who it is, refreshed. before they change /show final product at this years e3.

That could not have gone worse for Nintendo. To have the people on-air say to the audience, "Wait, don't buy it when it comes out, wait and see how it does first." OUCH!

You can bet ABC and Good Morning America will be getting stiffed next time Nintendo wants some good press.

Wait for GDC people.

Nintendo rarely participates or announces anything at GDC

You must have confused it with some other event as Nintendo has shown/announced a few Zelda games and last year they showed us a logo of Mario 3D land as well as a new Zelda SS trailer.

But people seem to always forget these announcements…

I bet Pikmin 3 will show up at this years GDC

So the game system itself looks like a Wii (from the picture) with a Tablet controller o.o.

Oh wow looks pretty cool *-*!

Yeah it’s cool but still not the final design. I think it is good as it is. Simple, clean and small.

I would like it in mat black though *drools*

Silver looks fucking hot, that image is going around now.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Yeah saw it on Gaf a day or two ago and it looks hot!

I wonder if it will only be a white colour at launch… they should release at least two colours like with the 3DS
