The upgrade and release of the XBox 360 Slim plus Kinect with a half a billion advertising campaign was as good as a new console launch by Microsoft in Aug/Sept. 2010.
X360 has sold well over 20 million systems since the launch of the XBox 360 Slim.
kinect has been included as a control option in a few mainstream games along with casual games made specifically for the two devices.
kinect has helped the XBox 360 make up for its shortage of exclusive games.

So much the better! If we wait until 2013 or 2014, MS and Sony will be able to offer far more without their prices skyrocketing.
Rushing their release in 2012 they could end up offering next gen consoles with some disappointing aspects, like excessive price, or bad reliability.

I usually don't call good games casual games, because casual games are associated with negativity. For the purpose of this argument it doesn't matter though. Whether you want to call (some of) Nintendo's games casual or not, it doesn't change the fact that the games that sold the Wii could not have been on the PS3. More proof for that point is Move which got a good amount of casual games and shovelware, yet it didn't and doesn't help PS3 sales in any meaningful way. |
Didn't PS3 just have its best year in 2011? You're telling me PS Move had NOTHING to do with it?
The games that sold the Wii couldn't be on the PS3? You mean because they're owned by Nintendo right? Because technically they can easily be ported to PS3.
