Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft introduces "Kinect Core Games" site

Examiner

Microsoft has introduced a new website specifically focused on hardcore, or "core", Xbox 360 games, for use with its hands-free motion sensing camera. Kinect Games for Serious Gamers highlights titles that may have been overlooked by flood of family-friendly or dance/exercise games available for Kinect. Titles include:

  • The Gunstringer
  • Forza 4
  • Child of Eden
  • Rise of Nightmares
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Fable: The Journey

With some of Kinect's criticism from core gamers, as well as, mainstream gaming journalists being a lack of "core" games, this site looks to clear up some of the myths surrounding the entire gambit of games available for Kinect.

Hey.....gotta start somewhere :P

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

So what does Mass Effect 3 do with kinect? Voice command?

Yay!!!

I can't see any Kinect-only "core" games being successful. It's a nice additional feature when games like Forza 4 and Mass Effect 3 have optional Kinect controls and functionality, but 99% of 360 gamers don't want to be forced to use motion controls to play "core" games.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Microsoft should try to use the Kinect for what it is good at, not what it isn't. And even mentioning Rise of Nightmares, which got terrible reviews, shows how desperately they are trying to push the Kinect into "hardcore" gaming. Give it up, it won't work. At least not this generation. How annoyed would you be if you said a command in ME3 and it screwed it up? No thanks, I will stick with my controller until they can prove to me that it is a better experience. It makes you wonder if they are going to screw up Halo 4 with Kinect implementations that either don't work or are better without them. I own a Kinect, and I have been pretty disappointed since its release, except for a few minor exceptions and I really don't expect them to change it until the Kinect 2, or whatever, comes out. Until then, it's rubbish.

Rise of Nightmares works pretty good

some review even said it sucks not because control

but i guess controllerism would never approve Kinect

well in Ghost Recon FS you can use Kinect for assisting in normal mode(last E3 they just show Kinect-only mode)

and Ryse,Steel Battlion will be hybird control game, but required both(gamepad+kinect)

Didn't they introduce this webpage long time ago? I mean since last year, I already saw this webpage on the XBOX360 website.
