What's the point of not showing someone's posts while they are banned? I wonder who came up with this.
It's pretty kindergarden, and makes threads hard to read. In my opinion, this needs to stop. Agree? Disagree?

Instead, offending posts should be edited to include the following information: "User has received a warning for this post" or "User has been  banned for X days for this post".

"Well certainly with the Xbox 360, we had some challenges at the launch. Once we identified that we took control of it. We wanted to do it right by our customers. Our customers are very important to us." -Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb (10/2013). Note: RRoD was fixed with the Jasper-revision 3 years after the launch of 360

"People don't pay attention to a lot of the details."-Yusuf Mehdi explaining why Xbone DRM scheme would succeed

"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it's called Xbox 360,”-Don Mattrick

"The region locking of the 3DS wasn't done for profits on games"-MDMAlliance

Remove the offending post, sure, but don't remove all others. That's an unwelcome and uncalled for intrustion on the flow of threads where threre's no infringement on board rules or ettiquettte.

“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

Jimi Hendrix

I think it should just say - "Moderated by ___" like it does in some cases or "User has been banned" underneath, although most of the time the posts that are removed don't add anything to the discussion and just cause a shitstorm by the use of terms like "Fanboys, xbots" etc.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I wouldn't even remove offending posts, just include information regarding the kind of action that was taken; basically to serve as a warning and make others understand what is considered inappropriate. I'm not a fan of censorship.

edit: And yes, it would be a good idea to see which moderator was responsible.

How about hiding it so people can view it if they want to.

Good idea, yes! There could be a button saying "Offensive post, click to read anyway"

Just quote the person if you really wanted to see what they said.

Although it is kind of strange that all there post are removed. But the site is about to get a make over again. Look at the stickied threads and you will be able to read all about it in ioi's thread.

LOL silly spurge, thats not linkz °.°

Me and Tor actually agree with you. I hate it - it looks ugly, ruins threads and makes people think we're trying to hide posts or something. We never asked for this 'feature'. It's one of those niggling annoyances that the developer never got around to fixing, so we're now stuck with it until the new sites launch.

So the next update will fix it? It really messes threads up and it's a pain to have to use quote to be able to read posts from banned members.
