Forums - General Discussion - MAFIA - Round 36.5 - Short Practice Game

What's there to discuss in 4 hours when we had a total of like 3 posts in the last 10 hours? MDJ, moren, and noctis, your lurking will do nothing but hurt us. Unless you're scum and that's your intention.

correction: Now it's 1 hour

As a mafia player, Why would I go after a townie only to kill him in the night? I would know who all is town,  so why would I then kill that same person in the night, knowing it would look bad on me, instead of trying to lead another mislynch on him the foloowing day and just kill someone else?

Sometimes it makes me think if you guys actually think before you vote.  Wonk and Link are highly suspicious to me, due to the time constraints their votes seems to be trying to start a lynch train on me.  And wonks is just a plile on vote with poorly thought out reasoning.

Vote: Wonk

This one day thing may not be a good idea, I think it should probably be extended to 2 days, just not enough time to discuss anything, cause at this rate the only kills are going to be mafia kills.....

Day starts late but ends on time?

I was hoping to get some kind of a defense from you Vette. I think it's a horrible one though. As I said, Stefl was practically mod-confirmed town by the votals. Unless you had a power read on someone else, it would be best to take him out since there really was no good chance of him being lynched ever.

I can understand your point about Wonk, almost enough to make me switch. But what your accusing me of makes me wonder if you've checked in at all since your vote on Stefl.

"TIIIMMMY!"
Timmy gasped, fearful that something which had slipped his mind was now begging this off-hour summons.
"The party" he thought.
Oh NO - he was supposed to go to some stupid baby showering. What was so great about a baby getting washed. How stooopid.
He took the toys and put them in his pocket, holding his hand over the outline to ensure that his mother wouldn't notice his attempt to bring toys to a boring event. "She's always trying to spoil my fun", he thought coldly.
-
Later, after all was said and done, he had actually had a good time. A baby shower was just presents and no babies. What a relief. He had set up his toys, and played with them, and had cake.
As thanks, he decided to take some spare wrapping paper from a pile next to the sofa and folded it around a carefully selected army man. He put lots of tape on it, wrapped it up crudely (but cutely) with some of the curliest ribbon he could find, and wrote a ramshackle note saying "Tu beybee".

He waited until the final moments of the night to give it to the expectant mother, just before they were supposed to leave, and bounded out the door with a smile after receiving a quick peck on the cheek.

The army man would one day fight again, but not today or tomorrow. Timmy felt like a hero for sparing the poor army man from the embroiled battles that would soon unfold in the sandbox.

Night 2 BEGIN

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb, and vote for Spurge.

Vote: Spurge

He puts a vote on Stefl yesterday, but then assures us that wasn't his target last night as the supposed vigilante. So who the hell did he target? Somebody completely random? Something about that seems a little fishy.

There just happens to have only been one kill yesterday. Whether it was from the lynch or a night kill, we don't know, but that would indicate whoever Spurge did target was either protected or something else such as a player being bussed occurred. I don't like coming out with crazy theories involving a busser, because the simple truth is that they are not very common (on Vgchartz anyways).

I would have thought that a doctor would have seen a vigilante as an important role, and hence protected that player. That would mean that Spurge was protected, not whomever Spurge targeted.

We are left with Spurge being blocked. While I have slight thoughts that a town oriented roleblocker could see reason in blocking a vigilante on night 1, I have my doubts. This would leave a mafia roleblocker in this particular instance. No offense to Spurge, but I think it would be in the mafia's best interest to let him be on night 1 as a vigilante. There is so little info from night 1 in this game that the shot would be more or less completely random, giving the mafia good odds that a townie will be taken out.

What I am getting to is this. I think if Spurge is indeed a vigilante, then he targeted Stefl last night. Why he wouldn't admit to this, I have no clue. Not just this, but I REALLY don't think Spurge as a town oriented vigilante is necessarily a good thing for the town. Vigilante is a very powerful role, and for somebody who has only played one game, it is quite the weight to be carrying on your back.

In other words, if he is indeed a vigilante, I'm not so certain it isn't in our best interest to vote him out, to eliminate the risk that his night kills will present, not to mention I still have a feeling he may be mafia. Others may completely disagree, I just have a really hard time not getting worried when you have a vigilante who may very well be picking a target out of a hat every single night.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
