very nice read and thanks for your impressions of the game :)
the only thing i dont like is how u say it has things in common with ff12, which is my most hated ff game and almost made me give up on the series for good.
btw, what is your opinion on the final fantasy 10 hd version u going to get it ?

Actually, I would say 12  was the most hated until 13 came out. People complained about that game longer then any other. In fact, I need to try to realize the series might get better again  after 13. As for me the series went downhill slowly after 7 until twelve in which it peaked again. Just saying.

That's quite long so I'm posting so I can give it a full read later. From what I've read so far you sound quite positive about it.

Sounds promising.

i'll read everything when i get back from work.

btw, love the new avatar

How the hell can you play a Final Fantasy game for over 100 hours??
This isnt Skyrim were talking about..

How can you play Skyrim for over 100 hours?I had 170 hours in FFX...

Anyway, the monster system sounds original but the core mechanics of the game still put me off. I never finished FFXIII, just could not bring myself to do it with the combat system being what it was and the overall scale of the world and setting being limited almost till the very end.

Pretty promising article compared to the pretty sad sales of XIII-2 in Japan. I've little problems with XIII other than the linearity, so this game should obviously cut the cake for me. I've been a little regular with respect to JRPGs throughout the years with my 360, and this game seems to relate back more to the core mechanics of what a JRPG should be.

K NAISE I'LL BUY IT. (Even though I've wanted to buy it ever since it was announced...)

I'm anxious for this game.

OK, I've read it now and it does sound promising. My main concern now is that it's following on from FFXIII which I hated. I hated the vast majority of the cast in XIII and thought they were an absurd mess of over the top cliches and Dawsons Creek wannabes. I don't see the characters in this being much better to be honest.

Luckily, the rest of the game sounds like a massive improvement. In many ways it sounds like they've gone for something more in line with Chrono Trigger with a bit of XII which definately sounds like a better direction.

I'll give it a good ol read later; but from what i did skim through it does look very promising. personally i dont know how they wouldve improved the story over FF13, since its made by the same people; but i've heard things from other people that the story is a lot better this time.

and all those sidequest, minigames and replayability can only be a good thing. i think on the gameplay side Square Enix have really gone to town on this one!!

What i most enjoyed on FFXII was he battle System.. it wasn´t perfect, but was fun... the best of the series for me.. What i just want is the Gambit system of FFXII so I can persolize the attack pattern of my allies like on FFXII.. and this battle system will be the standart on the series.. FFXIIIVS will have it too.. ;) so get acostumed...
